Bottle from Brewerβs Droop, Bristol. Copper coloured with a big, off-white head. Sweet, caramel, berry fruit and earthy malt aroma. Flavour also inclined towards sweetness, with bready malts, more fruit and a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Cask at The Bear (JDW), Maidenhead. Golden brown with a scummy looking head; aromatic hoppy aroma; thick and oily in the mouth, with some strong chocolatey malts and spicy aromatic hops; the finish is deeply bitter on the pallate without hitting the throat, and leaves a long, satisfying, aftertaste.

Handpump at the Wetherspoon outlet in Terminal 5 of Heathrow airport. Hazy dark amber, nice lace. Nice aromatic citric hop notes on a earthy background. Light smoke, straw, berry notes, a few rye edges. Fullbodied chewy. Lovely, really nicely balanced and flavorful drink.

Hamilton Hall Spoons. Clear amber beer, little pale tan head. Palate is a little soft wit fine carbonation. Sweetish caramel malts, touch of lactose. Semi sweet citrus in the mid. Finishes neutral with a mild citrus bitter linger. Not bad.

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW - London. Pours clear copper with a tight, creamy cap. Toasty bread in the nose, some pine, ripening cotrus. Medium sweet flavor, juicy pine, bitter orange and grapefruit, dirt. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Well and resinous to finish with some earth, pine, sticky citrus fruits, wholegrain bread. Well hopped stuff! Very good.
