Angel, Angel Islington 5 Nov 12. JDW Festivaløl. Gylden. Lavt skum som fester seg som nivåmerker. God fruktig aroma. Aprikos. Tung fruktig smak. Litt syrlighet i ettersmaken.

Has hopped fruits in both its nose and in its taste, but is a weak textured ale.

Festival ale, cask, half pint at JDWs Angel. Clear amber-gold body. Spotty lacing. Floral hoppy nose. Lemony hops in flavour as well as fresh grapefruits. Crisp, bittersweet ending. Good (London, 05.11.2012).

Playhouse Spoons, Colchester. Clear gold beer, little white head. Palate is light and semi dry. Decent hops - fresh marmalade and bitter peel. A little lemon and a touch of tropical fruits and a pinch of spice. Finishes semi dry with medium bitter linger. Clean and fresh and well hopped. Good stuff!

From cask at JDW Bells, Edinburgh. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity, light citrusy and mild peachy. Peachy, grapefruity and citrusy. Bitter, dry and solid hoppy. Dry and lingering grapefruity hoppy.

Cask, gravity dispensed, at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Amber with a loose white head; the aroma has some zingy grapefruit, but is also rather earthy; in the mouth, it’s sharply bitter from the start - with grapefruit, citrus and tree sap, counterbalanced by some pineapple sweetness; then a long dry finish. This is my best beer of this ’spoons beer festival so far.

Cask at Market Porter, 24th January. Tasty one, good drinking, not outstanding, but a nice beer.
