The nickname was given to Odo, Earl of Kent and half brother of William the Conqueror, who was tried for defrauding the crown. A strong New Zealand Pale Ale. Toasted biscuit and rye malt flavours support a pine lemon hop crispness with a hint of vanilla.

Bottle - Pours a hazy pale orange colour with a lasting creamy white head. A sweet malt and banoffee pie aroma, surprisingly thin, sweet light and fruity. A light bitter finish.

Gravity cask at Leicester Beer Festival 2016. Dark gold, only slightly hazy with a ring of white head. Strong papaya scent with a hint of peach. Taste is strong, sweet and heady, with overripe tropical fruit to the fore. Medium to full oily body. May not be everyone’s cup of tea but I loved it.

Bottle. Appearance- light copper, amber. Quite a big, foamy white head, which leaves quite a bit of lacing. Aroma- toffee, fruit, hint of raisin, hop resins, slight tangerine and grapefruit. Taste- fruity, orangey, toffee, vanilla, smooth, bitter, some carbonation, quite a full mouthfeel. Pretty good.

Bree Louise. Cask. Thanks to Gunnar. Clear gold beer, no real head. Palate is smooth, very modest carbonation. Nice mix of flavours here - mild floralness and honey. Mild sweet citrus blends in well and has a tangerine streak. Finishes smooth. Pretty drinkable.

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise - London. Pours an ever so slightly hazed good with a fine, creamy head. Sweet ripe fruit aroma, citrus, berries, plums, some bread, caramel. Medium sweet flavor, some sticky pectin, ripe orange, mango, further caramel. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish with Some sticky sugars, lots of ripe fruits, surprisingly distinct tangerine and orange. A really nice ESA. Balanced and sweet when it needs to be, and never overbearing.

Cask (@ Old Brewery Tavern, Canterbury, Kent, U.K.): Deep golden, clear, stable white head, moderate bisquity and malty nose with a moderate hoppy backbone, medium bodied, moderate bitter-sweet flavour, soft; increasing hoppiness towards the bisquity-fruity finish. Good, good, good.....
