The bottle looks very, very good, well done. Beer in the glass dark brown, small creamy head. Starts very strong, a bit scratchy, quite alcoholic from the beginning. Also a bit soapy. Fruity like apricot. Intense finish, sharp, a bit sourish. Interesting, but all in all too alcoholic.

Tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a cloudy ruby with a wistful, off-white head. Considerable lacing. Aroma of caramel malts, grape, and fig. A very sweet flavor ensues, with tons of grape, honey, and golden raisin notes. Medium to big in body, moderately carbonated, vinous, very warming. Some earthy bitterness in the finish, with some booze thereafter. Quite solid.

375 mL bottle. Pours murky brown with no carbonation. Aroma of burnt caramel and dark fruit with an odd mustiness. Raisin and caramel flavor, some herbal qualities, boozy. Grows on me slowly. A weird beer, but good.

Delicious barley wine. Raisin nose with candy apple, chocolate and nuts for the mouth feel. Rated 4/15/10

On tap @ Beertemple to finish the evening. Red-brown colored. Malty sweet aroma with caramel and hints of sweet fruit. Sweet flavor with already some bitterness. Finish is shortly sharp bitter, after which the bitterness mellows a bit. Good barleywine, and quite delicious.

bottle - Pours murky brown with almost no head. It smells of malt, caramel, wood, and dark fruit. The flavor is big and malt rich with ample hops balance, caramel, wood, and intense bitterness. It’s full bodied and very enjoyable. Excellent barley wine.

On tap at Beer Temple. Murky brownish red colour, dense off white head. Aroma of grapefruit and blood oranges, hops, sugar, a bit of sprouts. Flavour is rather sweet and sugary, fruity, blood oranges, grapefruit, malts, chocolate, a bit of liquorice root, firm prickly grapefruity bitter finish. Fullbodied. Nice, but a bit too sweet imo.

Bottle. Deep amber body. Short, light brown head, quickly diminishing. Aroma of caramel, leather, horse blanket, lacquer and pineapple. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lighly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, soft carbonation. Average barley wine except it has a muted aroma and a flavor that starts great with malty funky notes, but finishes with an alcoholic, lacquerish taste.

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Fiery red-brown, sediment-laden body, thin buff clumping head. Nose of hot, burnt caramel, alcohol, and oxidized citrusy, piny hops. Sweet body with caramel and brown sugar, with a cerealy Fruity Pebbles character, tea-like with oxidized, faded citric hops. This tasted past its prime.

Tap at Plan B. Poured a earthy brown with no head. Aroma was full of dark sweet notes, particularly, plum, raisin, caramel and molasses. Flavor was full of molasses and caramel, as well as a grainy note. Alcohol was very present, a bit overwhelming. Very thick on the tongue.
