Bottle as shown. Pours a very cloudy dark amber with a small frothy white head that quickly diminishes to nothing. The aroma is a strong dark fruit malt with alcohol and licorice. Thin mouthfeel with a watery roasted malt with alcohol very present. Licorice and caramel flavor. Easier to drink as it warms, a very good Barleywine from Mikkeller.

(Bottle, purchased at Ölbutikken, Copenhagen) Reddish amber colour with brief, foamy, beige haed. Malty, fruity nose with dried apricots, red berries, caramel, a touch of rubber, orange peel and citrussy hops. Slightly vinous. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, black-currant, caramel, orange peel and lots of citrussy hops in a vinous, warming finish. Bitterness grows with every sip. More than medium body, rather sweet. Lots of taste and a lot of different impressions. Possibly lacking some in balance, but a nice and warming beer.

375 ml bottle @ Cardinal. Hazy reddish brown body with a moderate beige head. Quite strong aroma of malt, caramel and citrus. Flavor is sweet and bitter, malt, caramel, peaches, dry fruit and a surprisingly well hidden warming feeling of alcohol. Well done, well balanced and well stored.

bottle, pours carmel and light burgundy, no head. Aroma is pruney with apricotg and booze. Candied apple and a super sweet malt flavor, some simple syrup, and brown sugar, with a little booze in the finish. This is a great sipper!

Definitely a big beer. Murky brown, rapidly disappearing light tan head. Aroma of alcohol and cinnamon. Taste of raisins, wine and allspice. Bitter finish. Would all politically correct morons please note that this is a barley wine, not a stupid barley wine style ale, there is no such thing. People who complain about the proper name should drink piss.
