Fortem is a new-age imperial IPA that draws upon a range of influences, all while exhibiting DNA from our own forays into the IPA style. As such, it blends newer hop varieties from the Pacific Northwest and Hallertau, Germany along with pale malt, wheat malt and flaked oats for a full body and rounded mouthfeel. Fortem has been left unfiltered for a full hop impact.

Tall boy can pours with a near clear deep gold body that supports a full off white head of foam. The aroma offers up banana, bubble gum, apple, pear and a hit of honey. The taste delivers banana and bubble gum. It gets a touch peppery to midway as sweet apple and pear like fruity esters as well as orange blossom honey bubble to the surface. Meh. Not sure what this is supposed to be.

Can from Cotteridge Wines; hazy orange pour with a thin off white head, aroma has pine, tangerine and juicy mango, taste has smooth mango, bitter grapefruit, some crisp sweet malts, bit of a departure from the DIPAs I've been having recently, but a very pleasant one.

Can. Hazy gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Soft and sweetish malts, nice soft malt cream. Hops bring mild mango and mellow orange. Trace of peach. Good hop spice and pine. Smooth airy finish. Not that punchy hop wise, but wonderfully smooth hops and very very drinkable.

Can shared at Leighton's place. 06/09/2017. Many thanks to Paul for this juan. A mostly clear golden orange coloured pour with a frothy off white head. Aroma is nice toffee, pine needle, orange rind. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, candied orange, midget gems, candied pine, caramel. Palate issemi sweet, frothy carbonation. Nice , quite old school. Little dried citrus in the finish.

Can shared at LKS. It pours clear bright yellow - gold with a massive foamy white head. The aroma is soft, fresh, vibrant, lemonade, lime, grapefruit, verbena, white bread and icing sugar. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, fresh, lemon - lime, quite clean, pithy, zesty, gooseberry, grapefruit, white bread, floral vibes and light boozy hit with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carabontion. Perhaps a touch old-school, but good fun,

Can shared in Hackney - cheers to Scopey. Pours clear gold with a small, frothy white head. The nose holds lightly faded pine, semi-ripe citrus fruits, dry pale bread. Medium sweet flavour, oily and juicy, with some lime and melon, orange, mellow piney bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warming and resinous finish, with more oily hops, tropical fruits. Fun.
