Born in the luminous moors in an environment of untamed lochs and haunted Scottish castles, the ale Gordon Scotch Ale is so generous that it is willingly shared. Its white, unctuous foam, in total contrast with the dark brown elixir, is a pleasure for the palate. The connoisseur fraternity will recognise the authentic Scotch : the soul of the Scottish Highlands.

33cl bottle. Not much is to be said about this beer. It remains one of my all time favorite scotch ales along with the Gordon Xmas. Pours copperish with a beige head. Aroma is malty, roasted and caramely. Taste is strong roasted / caramel and some coffee + butterscotch. Alcohol is quite present all over the tasting, very roasted.

33 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a deep hazzlenut golden glare, dense, creamy and light tan head. Mild spiced and breadish malt aroma. Flavour is dry breadish malt, slight roasted note and a nice pilsner hops bitterness shining through. Goes down quite smooth given the alcohol content. Nice roasted malt finish with a mild bitterness lingering into a dry finish. Nice one.

330 ml. bottle. Cola colored pour with a large, near rocky, tan head. Aroma is roasted caramel with whisky smoke notes. Sweet. Slighty smokey. Darkish roasted malt. Some heat. Thin to medium body with coarsely creamy carbonation. It’s too hot to sip well, and it’s too sweet to quaff freely. So this "unique nectar " has to stand on it’s own. I like it, but I like other beers more.

Bottle: Poured a deep clear brown/burgundy color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention but no lacing. Aroma of caramel malt with some medium sweet notes also noticeable. Taste is a mix between some medium sweet malt with some notes of caramel malt. I could not detect any peat malt which is usually a characteristic that I enjoy in this style. Body is a bit thin and somewhat watery for the style with some good carbonation and alcohol is not discernable. I was a bit disappointed by this one, I thought it lack body and some smoke notes.

Bottle. Toffee malt and astringent alcohol aroma. Dark reddish brown with small head. Raisin and toffee malt flavor primarily with a mildly astringent alcohol burn to finish. NIcely drinkable - not too harsh.
