Cloudy dark brown beer. Soft palate. Rich tangy porter, sourish malt. The oaking seems sublte - may have slightly rounded this beer off otherwise does not make it’s prescense known. Low carbonation. Smooth.

Bottle 250ml @ home
[Trade by fonefan] Pours black with a small off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt and dried fruits. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with a kind of dry fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

The bottle looks simple, but good. Beer in the glass not very zippy, almost black, small head. Strong-malty aroma with coffee notes and notes of liquorice. Starts malty, deep, heavy, not very dry, very fruity like plum. Finish sticky-sweet, modest dry in the background. Moldy-malty aftertaste. Okay!

Black color; the head reduces to a thin persistent and creamy layer. Aroma of roasted malt, rhum, cheese rind, feet, light chemicals and phenol; quite messy. The mouthfeel is smooth, but with a sour trace that I would like not to feel; quite good roasted malt and coffee flavor, but also some paper. The body is not strong, and this is more evident in the final, where there is a mix of mildly roasted malt and its sourness. This combination of flavors, even if not amazing, increases its drinkability.
It’s confusing; apprecieted if looking for a semi-sour medium-bodied Porter.

Dark brown with a tiny off white head. Aroma was sweet with hard roasted malt, coffee and dark bitter chocolate. Flavour was sweet with hard roasted malt, chocolate, wood and overripe fruits. Finished sweet. Quite vinious. Finished sweet with warming alcohol.

12/20/2009 33cl Bottle from De Molen. Black colour with red edges, very thin creamy beige head. Aroma of earthy liquorice root, oak, sour fruits, light vanilla and roasted malts. Flavour is sweet, roasted malts and a bit of chocolate, tart/sour fruits, a bit wine-like, wood, powdery liquorice in the finish. Light to medium bodied, thin mouthfeel. Sourness and thin mouthfeel ruin the beer completely imo. Didn’t finish it. 53429=2.3 Re-rate 16/12/2012 : 75cl Bottle at Sloshfest, Port-barrel aged. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, coffee, berries. Flavour is thin, watery, light coffee, light chocolate, overcarbonated, light coffee finish. Light-bodied. Disappointing, once more. 735212

Bottle via a trade with daknole. Pours with a fading tan head over a clear, deep brown body. Aroma of oak, raisins, chocolate, and coffee (rich espresso). Taste is raisins, dirt, chocolate, coffee, plums, slightly vinous, and nutty. Light bubbles and a creamy mouthfeel.

Dark brown color. Big charcoal, oak, marshmallow, nutty, dark chocolate nose. Very distinctive. A bit thin body with charcoal, cherries and dark chocolate, but it is a bit sour. Lingering charcoal cherry finish. Nose promised more than delivered.
