Half-pint. Chalk white head over a misty amber body, rich lacing. Inviting on the nose with lemony hops and a scent of biscuit. Well blended taste of mid-sweet, mild caramel malts, bread, and lemony hops. Hints of resinous bitterness to the ending. Nice. (Liverpool, 12.02.2025).

From cask at King’s Head, Leicester, 23.05.18. Clear pale golden. Uneven, but persistent, white head and lacing. Moderate aroma of citrus and succade. Taste of marmalade, lemon, lime, grapefruit, papaya, succade and sweet malt. Medium low bitterness. Uncarbonated.

Cask at the Kings Head, Leicester. Golden and clear with a puffy white head. Pear and lychee in the aroma.held up by a decisive biscuity malt. Bittersweet taste with an underlying sugary fruit sweetness near the finish. Flat body. A bit pedestrian for Salopian but enjoyable nonetheless.

Cask half-pint on 5th Dec 2016: Three Fishes, Shrewsbury. Golden body, white crown. Floral and fruity hops in the heavily scented nose, exotic tropical fruitiness oozes out of the brew. The taste is also tropical fruit like, semi-sweet and strongly flavoured; the finish being more bitter than the initial taste indicates. Most likely the best ’golden’ beer I have had from Salopian, really enjoyed it.

Cask pint @ The Three Fishes, Shrewsbury. Pours clear gold with thin white head. Nice mango / peach aroma. Continues in the taste with that distinctive smooth Salopian fruitiness. Delicious and well-balanced, although not too much to distinguish from other such Salopian beers.

[Cask in the Three Guineas, Reading] Peachy gold, moderate white head, slight carbonation. Fruity aroma leads into a light lemon & biscuit flavour. Moderate hop bitterness makes it pleasingly refreshing. Decent.
