bottle at a mates house ... hazy orange yellow ... sweet banana and bubblegum ... again tart citrus and bubblygummy .... bit drying linger... This was so much more a wheat ale, and i struggled to find any amarillo hop and not a very good wheat at that.

Bottle at Jerusalem Tavern, London
Muddy blond color. The aroma is light, it reminds me more a wheat beer than any Amarillo hop, there is a light fruit touch, citrus fruits, light ginger. Medium bodied, the mix of wheat and Amarillo produces something not bad, but that tastes a bit like citrus remedies against flu. Good bitterness level. Quite strange experience.

(Bottle, Jerusalem Tavern, Farringdon, London, 19 Nov 2008) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, grassy nose with notes of lemon and a hint of yeast. Fruity, slightly malty taste with lemon, grass, pears and notes of wheat. Summery and refreshing with distinct Amarillo aromas. In short: grassy lemon with a wheat twist.

Bottle, Sainsburys, Upton. Very hazy faded gold colour with no head y all. Hoppy, citrus aroma and flavour. Dryish finish. Not spectacular, but I enjoyed this

Bottle from Sainsbury. Slight haze, gold. Says it’s made with a champagne yeast and amarillo hops. Well it’s clearly not a UK yeast. Makes it more a biere de garde or a belgian blonde. Some amarillos, but not huge. Some sherbert hop sting on finish, but it’s not dominant. It’s a kind of Belgian blond. OK. But not one of St Peter’s best. 2.8/5 Re-rate bottle at Jerusalem Tavern, London. This was advertised on the board behind the bar and so I ordered it, and it was only when I saw the bottle, that I recognised it and remembered I hadn’t really liked it, but I was glad to have it again as it’s a Belgian wit style wheat beer with Amarillo hops on finish. Really quite quite wonderful. Amarillo and that wit orange fruit on aroma. Borders on soapy, but never enters it. Just so much better than I remembered. Refreshing and just my kinda beer. Decent Belgian wit with American hops. Really works.

500ml bottle from Sainsburys. Cloudy gold in colour with a rapidly fading white head; some spice and a good burst of hops but otherwise disappointing.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Pale, slightly cloudy golden in colour with no head. Fin’s comments are spot on - although some citrus hops were evident, the sweetness clashed somewhat and the dry finish was brief. Ok.

Bottle that dad brought along and shared with me at Cropredy Festival 2008 Poured a hazy golden colour, in fact it looked quite cidery as you could hardly see through it. This had a reasonable bite to it and the Amarillo hops show but I feel that they could have done a little better with them, touch sweet and lacking the nice crisp firm hoppy bite and lingering dry bitterness that I expected.
