On tap at the Euston Tap. Clear dark red - amber beer. Thin white head. Light dry smooth palate, semi dry. Sweetish red berry fruits! Which is fine except there ain’t much else going on - could almost pass for a fruit beer. Odd! Semi dry finish. Drinkable.

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 22 July 2011) Dark red colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with red fruit, caramel and orange peel. Malty taste with notes of caramel, red fruit, orange peel and a balanced bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with some caramel sweetness. Quite nice.

From cask at Cloisters. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small off-white head. Caramel, a bit of chocolate and mild roasted malt aroma. Smooth malty flavoured with a dry roasted caramel note. Light breadish finish yet with a distinct bitterness coming through.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Reddish amber with a thin off-white head; aroma of malt and toffee; sweet and malty flavours with chestnut and toffee. Really drinkable despite the sweetness.

Cask-conditioned at the Knights Templar (JDW), London 16/10/08. Ruddy brown in colour with a slight off-white head. Red fruits, some caramel and floral hops were evident throughout, with a short dry finish. Ok.

Cask handpull at Market Porter. Red/russet, lasting beige head. A fruity bitter, dark red, black fruits. It’s got good condition. Really good fruity hop bitterness on finish. Fruity malt on aroma. You expect it to be quite juicy, but the hop on the end is aridly drying. Surprising.
