Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. Cloudy dark chesnut brown colour with a large persistent cream coloured fine bubble head. Nose is earthy, touch of roast and yeasty. Flavour is woody, some feet, earthy mushroom some liquorice malt. Some grassy hop in the finish. Thought this was more like a dark farmhouse / saison rather than a black ipa.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s pre GBBF Shindig 2013, 10/08/13. Murky mahogony brown with a good sized light tan covering. Nose is light roast, touch of wood, pinch of spice, dark fruits. Taste comprises light roast, bready malts, dark toffee, light hops, spice, dark fruits. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish. Wasn’t picking up black IPA when I rated this not knowing the style, had it down as a (black) saison! Decent drop none the less!
