A superbly balanced beer golden in appearance with peaty smoky aromas and smooth whisky flavours from peated malt. With a measure of English Whisky from St. George’s Distillery in Norfolk, it is rich in flavour and a superb after dinner drink.

Bottle @ Early Winter Gathering season 11/12, Ulfborg. Pours clear golden with a small off white head. Peated nose and caramel. Leather, peat and wood. Medium bodied. Straight forwarded - somehow simple and one dimensional, but well made.

500 ml dark green oval bottle, as St. Peter’s The Saints Whisky Beer, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.8%. Deep golden colour, low white head. Strong aroma of peat smoke / peated whisky. Medium dry flavour, strong notes of peat smoke / peated whisky and ashes. Too peaty for my taste - if they wanted to add English single malt whisky to the beer (which indeed they did), they should have reduced the amount of peat smoked malts. "Superb balance"? Not at all! The flavour is pretty close to licking an ashtray.

Bottle from Waitrose, Northwood. A dark golden coloured pour with a small white head. Intense smokey aroma. I cannot taste any whisky in this beer, certainly smokey, fruity and I do get this plastic thing going on in the background. An odd ale but surprisingly drinkable.

Bottle from Waitrose. Niw I hardly ever look at rates before rating a beer but after taking one whiff of this one I did. Clear golden brown very thin disappearing head. Peaty smokey aroma. Some sweet fruit. Yes there is plastic. I really like this brewery but this is not great. But for all its faults is it undrinkable? No I dont think so. Yes some faults. The whisky is not too strong. And I quite like the base beer. Sweetish orange fruits on the backside. in fact the whisky and plastic fade. I would recommend it to people as an oddity even if I am not a big fan. Oddly drinkable

50cl bottle from Waitrose. Pours a golden amber colour with a white head that vanishes immediately; aroma of wood smoke; smoky flavour too, with a touch of iodince - reminding me of those heavily peated Islay malt whiskies - but there is also some sweetness, with a touch of fruity orange, and a hint of butterscotch; the finish is raspingly dry, and the smoke lingers. An interesting, challenging, beer.

Bottled 500ml. -from Vrutak, Zagreb. Deep golden coloured, medium sized white head, light smokey whisky nose. Sweet smoked malt, smoked ham and woody whisky notes with hint of plastic which is actually quite ok. Surprisingly nice and pleasant English smoked beer. Liked it.

0.5 l bottle courtesy of Marko, thanks! It poured golden body with small head. Very strong aroma, glue, chemicals, also burnt plastic which reveals its "smoked" character. Not pleasant, and repels normal people from trying it actually. Well, flavor was weaker, with that plastic now mostly turning into real smoked notes, ham, cheese, kinda interesting actually. Medium body with smoked, burnt meat finish, touched with plastic of course. Though this beer got balls, there are better smokes around for sure.

Bottle, Kuca Piva, Zagreb. Yaaay, I’m the first one to enter and rate a mew beer from a seemingly prominent English brewer. Found in Croatia to boot. Anyway, poured a golden body with a tiny white head. Smokey aroma, plastic, whiskey, sweet but not overbearing. Seems wholly out of place looking at the body. Smoked ham in the taste, nice smoked ham too. Sweetish, ending bitterish. Slightly ashy, slightly plastic, very light acidity. Almost one-dimensional but it holds its one dimension well. Not bad, but gets tiresome.
