An oak-aged bitter beer. By origin the beer already has a light citrus-bitterness because of its 4 hops and the subsequent dry-hopping. The beer soured slowly during its 4 months storage in oak wine barrels. The daring bitter-sour combination was softened by the ageing which resulted in a very pleasant drink.

Pours a clean amber colour with a big frothy-creamy off-white head, good retention and thick creamy lacing. Sour nose with some fruitiness (grapes, apples, gooseberries) and some mild old vinegars. The taste starts off sour and stays for a while, finishing with some light tart on the tongue. Apple notes and vinegar again. Goes down smoothly with a hint of oak wood. Well-brewed, but not so much my thing.

Bottle at Capital. Light blond colour, small white bubbly head. Aroma is good, pleasantly sour, creamy, gherkins. Taste is good too, creaminess stands at the front, but is backed up by citrus, and sourness, white wine, pickles. Bottle courtesy of Mortlach, thanks. In Rome at So Good. Cloudy golden pour with a medium white foam. Nose: sweet vinous, sour leather led beer. Mouth: crazy carbo, a bit citric, then goes better with a charming citric and herbal character which develops.

Bottle shared @So Good (Rome) with daniele and ippopotamo36. Dorata torbida, schiuma bianca media. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Ottima.

Fruity apples and vinegar tart nose, sweet malt, with grapes and apples, oaky vanilla with mildly toothy sour apple/vinegar. Very nice sour, typical of the Belgian neighbourhood.
