28/10/2018 @home - 33cl botlle from Prik & Tik Edelare. Clear orange golden, big pearly white head. Nose is grains, spices. Taste is sweet malt, hoeny spice, lavender, too much.

J'ai eu du mal à accrocher à cette triple qui n'en est pas vraiment une...la faute à leur épice "ultra secrète" qui ne lui donne pas des airs de triple. Pour ma part je pencherai pour de la citronnelle. Mais à part cet ingrédient "mystère", je n'ai pas réellement de quoi piquer votre curiosité avec une bière manquant de complexité et perfectible côté équilibre avec un sucre un peu trop présent écrasant l'amertume (pourtant à 41 d'IBU) et un alcool à 7,9 % n'arrivant pas tout à fait à porter l'ensemble. Côté visuel nous sommes sur une ambrée avec une absence de mousse à la surface (peu d’effervescence). Le nez porte directement sur la citronnelle, alliée à du caramel, du miel et des agrumes. L'attaque est sur une bonne amertume tout de même, on y retrouve les arômes présents au nez complétés d'une présence épicée notable (poivrée légèrement épicée). La deuxième bouche voit à la fois la douceur se renforcer ainsi que la présence de l'alcool. L'arrière bouche reste davantage sur l'amertume (sans faire cependant les 41 d'IBU) avec des épices très présentes. Les arômes sont cependant très linéaires. Le final, long se recentre davantage sur la citronnelle, complété par du miel et des accents qui parfois tournent au plastique. Ça se laisse boire, mais je n'y reviendrai pas.

Towering, very fine & dense light cream-coloured head, stable, over very carbonated copper-amber beer, hazy. Rather sweetish nose, lots of caramelhints, (toasted) cookies, but also spicy yeast features. Very toasted flavour, bitterish cookies; some spices that tend to be sweet. Impressions of dandelion, witloof , bay leaf. Warming up, the caramel takes over again, and at the very end, near clear liquorice. Slight wryness, quite slick. Near overcarbonated, at least medium bodied; Fading main flavour, no new aftertaste. Just as the Saison, quite decent amber; As long as they can keep off the infernal weed stash, the Oosteke beers are quite OK. 6/4/7/3/14

Fles gekocht in België, thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een donker geel helder bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. De geur is hoppig en fruitig. De smaak is zacht, hoppig en heeft een fruitige nasmaak.

19th May 2017: mini-tasting at home with myself. Third beer of the session and the second of three beers from this brewery. 33cl bottle, slightly out of date (7% ABV version): bugger. Poured slowly into a Chimay chalice, no sediment left the bottle (I think) but the body was still a cloudy and dull brown/deep orange colour, the head soon just a wisp and collar. Fruity nature to the nose and taste, spicey oranges coming through loud and clear in both the aroma and flavour. A nice semi-sweet Triple with a decent hop attack towards the end of each gulp.

F: huge, egg-white, long lasting. C: orange amber, hazy. A: malt, spicy, green pepper, orange peels, herbal, coriander, cooked vegetables – DMS. T: malt, vegetables, spicy, orange peels, herbal, peppery, coriander, yes there is DMS but more noticeable in aroma, medium body, medium to high carbonation, just good, 7,9% ABV, 0,33l bottle from Spar supermarket in Oostende.

Bottle shared. Hazy amber with a small off white head. Aroma is herbal, spicy, floral, caramel and malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

33cl bottle from Willems Grobendonk. Thin white head. Very hazy light amber pour. Fruity. A nice triple.
