Bottle (label says "Explosie"): Distinctive caramelly and port-vinous nose; clear, amber coloured, no head to speak of; moderate to solid sweet flavour, full bodied; brandy and dried fruits in the sweet caramelly finish with an alcoholic and warming aftertaste. Not bad, but too sweet......

Bottle 300ml. [ As Koelschip Explosie ]. Clear medium amber color with a small, virtually none appearance, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, berry, prune, moderate alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long long duration, and a alcoholic finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20091114]

Bottle 30 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Comes as: "t Koelschip Explosie". Pours a clear pale amber with a small, rough off-white head. Rustic aroma of caramel and oxidization. Solid body, low in carbonation, oxidized malts and caramel. Warming alcoholic finish. Don’t understand the low ratings here - this is very pleasant. 141109

Bottle, 13%. Perfumy and very peppery aroma, has a little marcipan. Clear dark amber colour. No head. The flavour is very sweet, and there is a distinct alcohol flavour, of course. Very sweet caramelly flavour, lots of white sugar.

Bottled (BB 11/2009). Amber color, no head. Rye bready and malty nose with sweet notes. Very sweet toffee sugary flavor. Some rye bread, almond liquer, cognac, alcohol. Interesting, but propably needs some cellaring.

Bottled, thanks jbrus! Amber colour, no head. Aroma is raisins, paper, sticky sweet alcohol and some sap. Flavour is alcohol, raisins, glue and supersweet. Very much the most unpleasant beer I have had in a long time.
