Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is roasted malt, strong roasty coffee beans, espresso, pretty potent liquorice a well, dark chocolate, caramel. Flavour is quite sweet with a roasty bitter finish. Body is full. Nice Imperial Coffee Stout, I was ready to worship this one, but it's a little too heavy on the liquorice for my taste though.

Bottled. Black colour with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and some mild tobaccoish tones. Flavour is coffee, chocolate, mild alcohol, dried fruits, toffee and some mild smoked tones too.

Way less soy sauce compared to the original, and of course more coffee. Lots of that, but used well, not overdoing it. A bit of super dark chocolate. Bitter. Seems less complex and smooth, maybe it didn't age as well? Still tasty, but not great.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at a bottle shop in London, maybe Hop Locker. Pours oily black with no head at all. Somewhat tasty, with rounded dark malts, juicy dark berries, soft coffee, mellow roast, low bitterness. But the condition holds this one back - its full bodied but it has an awkward, light fizziness to it, so the texture is a little odd. But overall it's not bad, with some brownies and bitter ashy roast in the finish, baking cocoa. Some warming alcohol in the aftertaste. Enjoyable in the end.

Dynamisch doordeweekendse doordrinkdrankjes drinken. Slechter zonder koffie.

Keg at Musa with Dirty D. It pours jet black with sturdy dark tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, big espresso character, dark chocolate, mocha, toasted nut and tobacco. The taste is soft, rich roasted malt, smoother, bitter - sweet, fruit and nut chocolate bar, espresso, coffee cake, warming alcohol, liquorice and umami with a slick finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and soft mouth - feel. Well rounded and flavoursome. Melikes.

Pouts pitch black topped with very thin beige head. Medium roasted coffee nose with some nuts. Gently sweet, a bit of chocolate and some vanilla, medium roastiness and slight alcohol warmth. Medium bitterness. Gentle rossty aftertaste, silky body, medium full. Very nice one, not too roasty and alcohol is superbly hidden.

4 April 2018. Beer tasting at tderoeck, with Anke - thanks to Tim for sharing!
Pours cloudy black with a quickly dissipating, tan head. Intense aroma of roasted malt, coffee roast, dark chocolate, praline ('praliné' filling), ripe apple, liquor. It tastes medium malty/chocolatey sweet, bit nutty, and light to medium roasted bitter; toasty finish with some sharpish (bourbon) alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Quite my style.
