Bottle. Oily black, no head. 3- A: Heavy roast, coffee, glazed brioche, chocolate, spices with a slight metallic tinge. Oily, very low carbonation. Much less sweet than suggested by aroma with the coffee, chocolate and bread tied tightly together, mild spices joined by the surprising berries that were there in the non-coffee version. Bitterness is subtle but grips towards the very long drying finish. Good, but not as good as the non-coffee version.

Collab of Buxton with Stillwater, bottle from De Hopduvel. Very dark, almost burgundy-brown foam, but very loose and bubbly, reduced to almost nothing in instants, fizzing away like the foam on a glass of coke; black robe with burgundy edges. Aroma of espresso and coffee beans indeed, burnt toast, dried mushrooms, liquorice, caramelized sugar, walnut oil, old raisins, varnish, bitter chocolate, soy sauce, whisky, hazelnuts. Sweetish onset, raisin and dried banana notes, surrounded by a relatively thick soy sauce- and porcini-like umami edge, soft carbo, sourish accent; thick and very oily, bit vinous mouthfeel. Toasted nutty malt body, bittersweet, more bitter chocolatey in the end matching well with the added coffee, which in itself accentuates a mild roasted bitterness; warming sherry-like alcohol effect, balancing herbal hoppiness, lingering umami notes amidst the ongoing malt bittersweetness. Too bad for the lack in head retention but an interesting and very enjoyable stout.

HL1, bottle. Opaque dark brown beer, no head. Smooth palate, modest carbonation. Coffee streaked dark malts. Some spice. Modest dark fruits. Esters on the dry finish. Overall it feels a bit awkward and I don't want esters in an Impy. Okay mind.

Pours extremely black, astonishing actually how dark. Absolutely no head. Aroma is rather nice, malty sweet with loads of coffee. Nutty notes and caramel, a bit of booze. Mouthfeel really lacks Carbonation imho. Medium body. Flavour is sweet, nutty. Lots of maltiness, coffee shines through really nicely. Finish is the best part of the beer: nutty, caramel-sweet, espresso. Could be longer though. All in all a good beer, yet not amazing, lacking carbonation and depth in both aroma and flavour.
