Red colour, no head. Aroma of red fruits, lactic acid, cherry yoghurt, red fruits. Cherry flavour, mildly sour yoghurt, red fruits. Quite full body, red fruits finish.
Very similar to the Timmermans kriekenlambik. That one was a bit more refreshing in profile, but they were eerily alike.
(Draught @ 22nd WoSF, Opstal 2013. Thanks for sharing, Uli! Part of Uli’s blind tasting of fruit lambics. 8 out of 10, not bad my friend, not bad at all!)

Krieklambic - mort subtle – kobbegem – Enjoyed at the 2012 Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation. This is an unblended Lambiek direct from the brewery. Served in 2 ounce pours.

A - plums cherries no. Head fingers

S - chocolate covered dark cherries

T - pumpkin pie sweet. Cherry after taste

M - light body. Acidic finish of apple vinegar

O – 5/5. One of the best Lambaiks we had that day. The pumpkin pie to me was a nice surprise. Really fantastic!

draft @ WoSF 2012 // clear wine red with no head // smell is awesome sweet and fruity kriek’s, quite fruity // taste-wise, the kriek’s are more mellowed out, reminds me of canned cherries a bit especially the way they are when the pie has just finished, tart, lemon acid touch in finish, maybe hint of wood, wonderful winter spices in the back, simple, effective yummy, much better than their sweetened crap // completely flat, flat-vile

26/V/2012 - on tap @ WoSF 2012 (Opstal) - (2012-538)

Little cloudy red brown to purple beer, no head. Aroma: lots of cherry candy ("poepkes"), some spices, little sourish, but citric sour. MF: no carbon, medium body. Taste: very spicy, cinnamon, cloves, sourness, soft cherry flavours, nothing too sweet, nice tartness. Aftertaste: more spices, fruity cherry and soft citric sourness. Really good stuff.

On tap at DHL, Belgium. Pours a clearish red with a light, filmy head. Tart, aged cherries in the nose. Sharp cherry flavor, quite sour, lightly sweet. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Clean, sharp finish, pretty dry, lots of wood and cherries. Delicious.

Tap at the 20th Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation. It pours clear deep red, with no head or carbonation. The nose is juicy cherry, marzipan, biscuit, peach, orange and floral. The taste is quite chewy, full of tangy cherry, redcurrant, watermelon jolly rancher and some metal, with a long, dry cherry finish. A great surprise from Mort Subite, probably the best kriekenlambik I had at the festival.
