"The rich and malty character of our Outta Kilter Scotch Style Red Ale is masterfully complimented by barrel aging, as the ’angel’s share’ slowly evaporates resulting in a wonderful concentrating of flavors. The full flavor experience goes one step further with the vanillin undertones from the oak wood of the barrel, adding a savory, satisfying depth of flavor, ultimately creating a wonderful sensory experience!

Can: Poured a murky brown color ale with a small off-white foamy head with limited retention and minor lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt with some dry fruits notes, vanilla and light barrel notes. Taste is also a mix of caramelized malt with some dry fruits and vanilla with some residual sugar notes and some barrel notes. Body is full with limited filtration and medium carbonation with light warming alcohol notes. Enjoyable but could benefits from better balance and more attenuation.

Bottle from Deconinck, no bottle date. Hazy dark brown, stable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of raisin, ripe red grape, cherry, marzipan, toffee, sweet whisky, wood, vague rainwater. Taste has sweet cherry, pear, red grape in a toffee & almondy malt body with herbal & woody notes. Herbal hops in the finish with lots of dried & candied fruit, wood, bitterish orange peel and warming sweet whisky- or bourbon-like alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Delicate for a BA ale, very lovely.

On tap at På Kornet, Stavanger. Pours hazy dark copper with little off-white head. Aroma of whiskey, dark dried fruits, caramel, ethanol. Tastes slightly sweet with little bitterness. Medium bodied, alcoholic warmth. Too much whiskey barrel for our palate.
