Keg a tight CBC Holborn - London. Pours clear amber with a creamy, off-white head. Nice aroma, some light age, caramel, dried fruits. Medium sweet flavourbwith moderate leafy bitterness, leathery berries, toasted bread and toffee. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Warming finish, with more leafy and earthy bitterness, more dried fruits and toffee. Nice one.

Keg at the Kings Arms, BG, 27/03/17. Chestnut brown with a decent beige covering. Nose is dark fruit rinds, light spice, muscavado sugar, biscuit crumble, sweet notes. Taste comprises fruit loaf, sticky toffee pudding, cheesecake base, dates, dark fruit esters, light spice. Full bodied, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the close. An OK sipper but a touch young and overly hot for my liking.

On tap at Port Street, Manchester, Thursday 30th March 2017 Pours dark reddy amber with a tiny slim filmy head. It’s a beast of a beer, and tried alongside Barry’s Cloudwater DIPA 13 well this completely outmuscles it. Loads of sticky dried fruits but a lengthy bitter linger. Thick mouthfeel, warming, it’s a sit by the fire sipper, love it. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Keg at Craft CG. It pours cloud reddish - brown with a small beige head. The aroma is rich malty action, cereal, brown bread, fruit cake, sweet dried fruits, figgy pudding, marzipan, candy, almond biscotti, wood and leather. The taste is rich, slick, bitter - sweet, brown bread, chewy malt upfront, boozy, loads of sweet dried fruit, date, prune, fig, candy, marzipan, almond, wood, leather, earth, varnish and some acetone with a drying and earthy finish. Has a certain rawness to it. Full body, fine carbonation and chewy mouth-feel. I really like the aroma, but it comes across a bit heavy and messy on the palate. A mixed bag.
