A full malt barley wine of 13% by volume, which is brewed once a year; fermented with beer and wine yeast. These are / will be beers matured on new Bulgarian oak barrels.
This type of wood has characteristics of both American oak and French oak; beautiful vanilla keys paired with spicy oak keys. Through maturing these beers for six months in these casks, they get incredibly beautiful wood / vanilla flavors. Aged for 1 year on virgin oak

mid-brown colour with thin, creamy head. Plenty of sweet, flavours including a liteotle dried fruit. The light dryness offered by the wood makes for a good balance.

Sampled at Zythos 2016. Thnx for sharing, everyone ! Pours dark amberbrown, small white head. Smell is bit weak? Some wood, but not much. Taste is sharp, buttery bourbon-like sweetness.

Sample @ Zythos’16, courtesy of and shared with the RB Belgian crew. Ambrée, col beige. Arôme offre un nez super fruité tirant sur un côté vin rouge alors que le tut semble être un chêne n’ayant rien contenu - mais s’éloignant un peu du style américaine t français, chêne superbement bien rendu, sortes de baies, grains et un chêne très plaisant. Palais est savoureux, fruité rouge avec un boisé qui est fortement bien plaisant. Sucre résiduel, vineux et un chêne qui apporte un caractère plus complexe à ce barley.

Sampled draft @ ZBF 2016. (Thank you for sharing RB people!) Very dark amber brown with little tanned head. Nose is thick sweet condensed milk, toffee, brown sugar, oak & candy. Taste is faintly metallic, faintly powdery after the perfect smell, these are the only things that keep this beer from achieving near perfect, otherwise, thick caramel, toffee oak, touch condensed milky, thick oak, brown sugar, honey, warming in a good way tad boozy, rich thick caramel, nuts thick caramel body. Lovely, keep this up, this is wonderful.

From tap. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is smooth roasted and dark malty. Sweet, wineous, fruity. Smooth malty, caramelish and toasted malty. Smooth and wineous, dark malty finish.

Clear dark amber to brown beer, creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet, malty, caramel, some banana, vanilla, dried fruits. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very fruity, notes of kiwi, bitter touch. Aftertaste: sourish, very fruity, sweet touch, caramel, nice stuff.

Dark brown-amber color with beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, a bit roasted and a bit cat piss. Taste is the same, a bit cat pissy, with a sweet malt body. Medium carbonation.
