From tap at Foeders, Amsterdam. Herbal aroma with bog myrtle, gale, juniper, malt, tart berries, more welcome spicy and herbal notes. Bit fruity with some funk. Tart flavour, mild sour. Medium body. Complex with well-integrated herbs, unique.

Love me a good gruit. Tastes medieval but with a modern twist (the barrel presence from the red wine). Can taste the caraway, hints of juniper, and a lot of bitterness from what must be the bog myrtle. Gruit on ya, mate. Big bottle but gets fun and funner

Munich Ratebeer Group Tasting at Jonas, Garching Friday 22nd October 2021. Pours amber with a fast disappearing white head, zappy, tart, fresh and then runs dry, fruity, like this, like this a lot.

Bottle of Gruitbier. Crazy herbal nose that you just can't describe. Lightly sour, a lot of lemony/stone fruit notes. Great complexity for a moderate body sour beer.

Rather orange with a fleeting, foamy head. Aroma of lemons and juniper. Taste is tart at first, then outright sour. Finishes the same but with increasing acidity and a hint of spice. Medium-bodied, mild carbonation. Interesting and complex—almost refreshing—but a bit too sour on its own for my mild tastes. Might pair nicely with a sandwich on a warm day.
