Birra Fresca Cucumber Mint IPA is named after agua fresca (“fresh water”), flavoured water and sugar drinks that are found throughout Mexico and other Central American and Caribbean countries. One popular version contains cucumber and mint, and according to the brewery, “the thought was that the cucumber mint IPA would be just as refreshing, if not more so.”
Based on R&B’s Hoppelganger IPA, Birra Fresca is a 6% abv and 50 IBU IPA made using more than 200 organic cucumbers that were sourced locally along with the mint.

Cask days 2012. Hazy yellow, small white head. The aroma is wild! Huge cucumber and mint with some light leafy hops, and some herbs. Lots of green herbs, particularily some mint (obviously) And what i think is basil. A tad watery, with low carb. Incredibly refreshing and tasty. Would be an incredible summer patio beer. Aroma of the fest.

Has a nice pillow of white foam and good clear medium gold body. Smells of nice fresh cucumber, mellow hops. Taste is great fresh cucumber, dry grain ending crisp and dry. Very nice, well balanced and refreshing.

Hazy tan, bubbly head, smells like cucumber and maybe a bit of mint. The palate kicks off with a lot of bitterness, the minty and a dash of cucumber. It’s odd - there’s some yeast that muddles some of the character.

Hazy copper-amber color with small head. Fresh aroma, watermelon (watermelon bubblegum actually), delicate mint; later, cucumber. Dry mouthfeel; some malt flavor, light caramel, with notes of mint and cucumber, lightly lemony; fairly bitter.
Interesting experiment.

66cl Bottle, thanks H&T! Slightly hazy golden amber colour, white head. Aroma of pickles, cucumber, some hops, tiny hint of mint. Flavour of pickles, cucumber, malts, hint of caramel, firm hoppy bitterness, hint of mint in the finish. Light-bodied. Weird beer, and not very appealing.

650 ml bottle. Pours a light mahogany color with little head. Strong green garden aromas of cucumber and herbs - not very appealing. Malty flavor to start with odd cucumber tones, definitely ruined by a bitter mint finish. Not quite a drain pour. Will save it for salad dressing.
