Like Hops? You’ll like this fire-hued beer. This is the beer I have always dreamed of making. This is the beer that would come to mind while spending the last two years tearing down walls, hanging sheetrock, moving kegs, power washing the ceilings, arguing with various agencies, and cutting the water main. Without Golden Promise malt, made by family-owned Simpsons Malt, Furious would just be pissed offed. From Scotland, this malt is still produced in the tradition of turning over the barley by hand, resulting in a malt that is unsurpassed in its quality. Golden Promise is also used extensively by premium whisky distilleries such as The Macallan. This malt provides the backbone for the intense hop character. Four American hop varieties are used at a rate of over three pounds per barrel. The result is a rich malt sweetness infused with bright hop flavor and aroma from beginning to end. Oh yeah, it’s about 6% alcohol and around 100 IBUs.

Thanks Virby44 for the can! Poured into a snifters showing moderately filtered dark brown with white foam around the edges. The nose doesn’t show much. Light malts with a bit pine but not much else. Upon warming up, a lot of caramel malts on a very light background of pine resin. The palate is moderately carbonated and medium bodied. Flavors of light juicy pineapple with moderately intense pine resin in the background supported by a light malt backbone. Simple but tasty. The can is about two weeks old but I’m guessing this would have a lot more fruit and less malt on tap.

tap at The Chicago Diner. Slight hazy amber with beige head. Marmalade, lemon peel, some resinous hops, caramel, light toffee, drying grass and some marijuana in the finish. Almost medium sweet and over medium bitter. Medium bodied with a bit oily feel. Nice.

I got this can in a trade with leftmindedrighty. Thanks Aaron!
This pours from 16oz can a cloudy rusty brown colour with a very small head of foam.
The smell is *very* nice. Caramel malt is there in abundance as is a nice strong hoppy nose.
The taste starts off malty sweet, that caramel is very tasty, and then the hops move in with some grapefruit, some Pine, and a bit of grass and spice and the whole taste becomes very nicely balanced until the near the finish where the hops take over but wait, they don't take over entirely. The actual finish has some sweet malt as well. Wow. And talk about smooth and easy drinking. The mouthfeel is medium and the carbonation is lightly done. Again. Wow and...whoa. I just took my last sip. This puppy disappeared way to quickly! This is one of the best IPAs I've ever had if not *the* best.
Thanks again Aaron!

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 10/20/2015. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy reddish orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light roast, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light roast, and floral/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance and minimal hop astringency after the finish. Good amount of dryness from bitterness as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, sticky/resinous, and slightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. Despite the darker malt and appearance; this was still very dry with minimal overall sweetness as expected for a west coast style IPA. A highly enjoyable offering.

Can @ Rowdy Rebel Revel, Sønderborg. Pours hazy rich amber with airy off-white head. Clear aroma of malt & hops, with notes of citrus and fruit and some estery touches. Bitter, hoppy flavour with notes of needles and round, fruity and malty touches. Linhering, bitter aftertaste. Good.

Hazy amber, big white froth. Piney aroma with caramel. Juicy, fruity hop flavour, well combined with caramel. Slightly rough in a nice way. Lasting bitter finish. Really nice.
