Pretty nice dark Belgian. Some fruity prune and raisin with a big Belgian floral yeast aroma. A touch of smoke as well. Light musk. Pours cloudy dark with good head and lacing. Finishes with light sweetness. Medium to thick palate. Soft carbonation. Bottle.

Bottle - Plum, cherry, raisin and brown sugar. Clear dark amber with a thin brown head. Sweet dark fruit, brown sugar and a bit of booze. Nice fruity and balanced.

Bottle. Hazy copper liquid with small off-white head. Aroma of raw sugar, toffee, bread, mango and port wine. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with notes of raw sugar, toffee and bread. Medium bodied with low to medium carbonation.

Drought. Reddish amber with foamy beige head, faint cloves aroma, sweetish mollasses taste with medium carbonation, long finish with alcohol aftertaste. Interestingly easy to drink for such alcohol content.

2010 vintage. Aroma has a ton of caramel and some light toffee. Hints of treacle and roast. Raisin, fig, prune very prevalent. A light toasted bread note as well as a hint of honey and wet paper oxidation. Pours a somewhat clear copper brown with some ruby hints. Thin, slightly tan head that quickly recedes to the edges then disappears. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor is similar with a fairly sweet caramel note with some toffee. A lot of dried fruit character - raisins and prunes along with some fig and dried nectarines. A hint of roast and some treacle round out the malt character. Medium low bitterness. A hint of alcohol spice in the finish, but it is hidden well in both the flavor and aroma. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium alcohol warmth. Overall a decent quad, but also nothing to write home about. There is less yeast character than I would hope for and its a bit too sweet. The age has hurt the aroma a bit but it doesn?t seem to have impacted the flavor negatively.

22oz bottle thanks to ditmier Pours out a brown with some red highlights topped with a sand head. Nose is sweet candy pit fruit spice and some belg yeast. Taste is sweet malts all the way put fruit spice layers and a little hotness on the end.

Draft sampled at the brewpub (2002 vintage). Pours hazy amber orange with a tan head. Aroma has that sweet aged effect, with dried fruits, candy, toffee, light apricot, spice and prunes. Flavour is light heavy sweet and light moderate bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle. Poured a slightly ruby copper color with a small, thin off-white head. Aroma was a lot of sweet caramel notes, malts with Belgian yeast notes. Flavor was a lot of candy sugars, dried fruits, yeast. Pretty tasty in small quantities, the booze character catches up on you quite quickly. A well done quad from a non-Belgian brewery.
