Brigand is a strong blonde beer that is re-fermented in the bottle. The pale blonde colour is eye-catching thanks to the use of unmalted wheat, pale malt and pils malt. Brigand has a slightly malty taste with accents of spices and hops in the finish.

Brewed since 1980. 20° plato.

Draught at Birreria Paradiso. Clear golden color, scant off white head and lacing. Aroma and flavor of sour orange peel and lemon. Tasty enough.

Pours foggy yellow with decent head in a chalice, could be slightly thicker though. Aroma is citrus and hay, alcohol, hops, skunky malts, bière-de-garde type stuff. Taste is a good mix between wood and coriander, sweet syrups, slight hint of orange peel. Okay palette. Somewhere in the middle of the Belgian pack.

Bottle. Golden coloured pour with a large fluffy white head. A pleasing floral, citrus aroma. Tastes quite sweet, malty, fruity, honey. Very smooth comforting typical Belgian beer, jolly good stuff.

Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark golden-orange color with a huge yellow-white head. The aroma was citrus, bread and a touch of anise with notes of tangy apples. The flavor was tart, tangy and lightly bitter with a sugar presence and mild floral hops. There was a yeast undertone with caramel, citrus and pear elements. The finish was long, sweet, tangy and fruity. Fairly full bodied. A touch of alcohol shows through. Well done.

Bottle at home ... amber ... big bubbly white head ... lits of rising bubbles ... Light spicy fruity yeast ... light bitter front ... grapes and spices ... quite a lot of alcohol ... little yeast ... bitterness in linger ...

Bottle. A golden-colored ale but tastes slightly aged, with a slight funky character in the nose and flavor. Complex and interesting, slightly port-like. Very nice, except the new label is a bit off-putting.

330 ml bottle. Slightly hazy golden with a nice, creamy off-white head. Aroma is malt, spices, honey and yeast. Flavor is sweet malty, spicy, some coriander, alcohol, banana and a hint of oxidation. This is Ok, not extraordinary but decent brew.

Test vom 10.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 11,11,11,12,7,11 - 10,95

Golden orange coloured beer, creamy white head. Aroma of sour apples, yeast, grains. Taste is soft, sweet-sour apples, fruity, malts and alcohol, slightly bitter finish. Prickly mouthfeel. Tastes more sour on draught. Prefer the bottle. One of my all time favourites.

I bought this beer despite the incredibly stupid label - pours clear gold, with an impressive, thick, frothy head - a lot of herbs and spices in the nose, with notes of lavender, rosemary, coriander, honey - as acrdz notes, the combination of herbs does remind one of soap, which is kind of a turn-off - there is some skunky euro hop presence underneath there as well - lemon, honey, and tart, nearly sour herbal components up front, followed by some warm spiciness - lemon verbena, lavender, rose hips - this really does taste like a mouthful of bath and body works - a lot of honey-ish sweetness in the finish - gets a little medicinal as it warms, and the alcohol becomes a bit too present - seems like a sweet, strong saison that they added way too many herbs and flowers to - overdone and lacking balance.
