Clear dark brown beer, creamy irregular beige head, pretty stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: spicy, aniseed, star anise, bit sweet, malty, caramel. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bitter start, lot of aniseed, spicy, cloves, some coriander. Aftertaste: caramel, little bitter, spicy, bit hoppy, some banana, alcohol, more aniseed.

Bottle from Geers. Dark brown/black colour, creamy beige foam. Sweet nose of carmel, butterscotch, dried fruit. Light bitterness. Balance is ok. Good.

The newest beer from this small brewery. Sticky, light beige, thin head over a very dark burgundy beer with blackish ’soul’. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, raisin, candied figs, blackberry, white pepper, some ’natural’ iron. Soft sweetish fruity taste, blackberries and dates, basic sourish edge, soft and smooth caramelly maltiness with a light chocolatey touch, light body for a beer of this style and ABV, some herbal hops in the finish but lacking a bit in roasted bitterness, perhaps. Yet an elegant and cleverly crafted beer for sure, with remarkably high drinkability.

Bottle shared with Dutchdrebus @ Drebus’ birthday tasting. Opaque very dark brown to black color, average sized beige head that diminishes fairly quickly but leaves decent lacing. Aroma is malts, dark malts, some kind of fruits, slightly tart. Taste malts, dark malts, slightly tart, dried fruits, a hint of red fruit in the distance, some bitterness in the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Ok beer.

Bottle @ benzai. Dark brown colour with a medium sized beige head. Smells red fruits, cherry peel, sourish. Tastes sweet, herbs, slightly chocolate or sokething but very feint. Medium body, quite heavy on the carbo.

Bottle. Pours nearly black, small grey head, with OK stability. Smell is roasty, coffe, with chcoolate aspects. Very different though. Got a mild, almost minty touch to it. Taste is sharp, and weird. There is most surely yeast in this one, on top of this mint-like, vegetable taste. its as weird as it sounds, yes. some roasted malts and some thick sweetness over an OK body and carbo. Aftertaste has mostly got roastyness in it - the vegetable-freshness fades very quickly, luckely for me ) Not a great one, but it could be worse I guess.

Draft @ Delirium. Brune foncée, col crémeux et soyeux café au lait. Arôme offre un bouquet intéressant et renforcé de fruits noirs (prunes et raisins sec) ainsi que pas mal de malts grillé. Le tout garde les grandes lignes d’une classique belge surtout au niveau levure. Palais est malté, dominance grillée, fruité noir avec une petite touche noisette pointe épicée rappelant l’avisé. Retrouve un côté réchauffant de l’alcool, sucre candi, pointe grillée et chocolatée. Amertume noble arrive en fin de bouche. Effervescence moyenne voire haute. Classique, belge côté triple, efficace.

Ein dunkles belgisches Bier, wie man es sich vorstellt: Schon ordentlich alkoholisch, aber dann so süffig, dass es nicht unangenehm auffällt. Dazu eine feine Süße und leichte Kräuteraromen, welche sich immer weiter entfalten, wenn das Bier wärmer wird. Serviert am besten im Corne-Trinkhorn immer wieder eine Freude.
