What’s this? A British-style IPA named after the man who defeated His Majesty’s Royal Navy in the War of 1812? Consider this a bold, hoppy (and mildly ironic) plunder of war.

Bottle @ Brad’s house Minneapolis. Pours a hazy golden orange appearance with a white head. Somewhat spicy, grapefruity, pienapple, passionfruit, fruity hoppy aroma. Rich grapefruity, tangy citrus, spicy hoppy, a bit thick malty flavor. Pretty tasty though the bottle that I sampled tasted a bit old.

12 oz. bottle. Pours gold with a thin head. The aroma is butter, resin, bread dough, and pine. The flavor is very bitter, with a little hop spiciness. The palate is medium, sticky, astringent, and grainy. Overall, this is a very hoppy and delicious beer.

12 ounce bottle. Bright brassy gold color. Small bubbly white head. Pleasant toasted malt aroma has a buttery character. Nice floral hops, also. Medium bodied with a firm malt backbone. Very nice citrus hop flavor trails off to a long dry hop finish. Very good.

(bottle) clear honey amber colour with medium tall white head; aroma of sweet fruit, then more pine and citrus, great rich and balanced flavor, excellent IPA - better than many Imperial IPAs

My first foray into great lakes brewing. So nice to find a balanced ipa. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a good hop bomb from time to time, but this was such a welcome treat, an ipa that has unbelievable drinkability.
