Tesla would visualize fully functioning inventions in his mind before even setting pen to paper.
That’s how a Mad Scientist creates a new beer — see it, smell it, taste it, then harness the right materials to create it. Now that’s Mad Science.
We harnessed the sun’s energy, channeled the power of malt, charged this beer with tons of hop energy and sent it surging around the globe. Think the juicyness of big doses of American Wet-Hops, with that clean snappiness of a cold fermented, meticulously lagered beer. How’s that relevant to Tesla’s shocking experiments? When there’s serious creativity flowing, everyone can feel it.

Pleasantly balanced and way too easy to drink. Pour is only decent, but the nose gives up a nice combination of lager yeastiness and floral hops. Taste starts with a dry burst of pungent lager malt, then develops an apple-laced tang and a mild grainy sweetness. Hops come on strong and shore up the back end, leading to a dry, piney finish and a modestly hoppy fade. Not a bad pint.

Can from Total Wine & More, St Petersburg. Dark gold, clear with no head. Tangerine, papaya, grass aroma. Tastes sweet at first but turns a bit astringent near the end of the sip. Short to medium finish with a orange peel and kumquat aftertaste. Pretty good for the style.

12 ounce can into lager glass, best before 2/18/2017. Pours crystal clear deep gold/light amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, honey, wheat, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine/earthy hops and moderate pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, honey, wheat, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderately pine/citrus peel/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, wheat, biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Very clean on lager flavors; with zero yeast notes present. Zero warming alcohol for 7.1%. Overall this is a very nice hoppy pale lager. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine/earthy hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, clean, and easy to drink. Pretty juicy on hop flavors with a nice malt backbone; never too bitter or resinous. A very enjoyable offering.

Can from Airforcehops, best before Feb 18 2017, drunk 11/4/16.
Clear copper-gold, with a small, flimsy white head.
Honey, caramel, lime, herbs, guava and finally....butter. What is it with this brewery and the huge proportion of diacetyl-ridden cans??? Same buttery flavor which is a shame because the beer is quite nice behind it. Not resinous or overly bitter with good attenuation and still a lingering, soft maltiness. As the palate adjusts, I’m really liking it. Shame. They need to get their shit together, this has been going on for years.

On tap at abv. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white head. A light fruity toast nose. The flavor is toasted malt, lemons, bready. Light. Smooth and good.

Sixpoint signature can poured. A nice wave of hops arrive right after opening this can, which instantly led to high expectations. After a few moments, the aroma turns to an odd grassy, buttery hop. Flavor is massively creamy. Golden pour. Hop heavy, grassy, wheat, with a slight abv heat to it, much to my surprise. I suppose it is advertised that way. A get more of a butter like constant in the finish. This beer got better as it went, I just had a hard time really figuring it out, and an even harder time deciding if I like it or not. Very unique. The good outweighs the bad here.

Draught @ Milk and Hops-Chelsea. Clear golden with small frothy whitish head, floral hops aroma, low carbonation, bitter malty taste, thin body, long bitter finish. Interesting hoppy lager.

Can at home after finishing entering my backlog from this weekend figured time to get back to live rating proper. Amber blonde pour one finger head. Nose is crackers and floral hops. Tastes of cracker, bready, pale malt, grass, florals, and sweet resin. Heavier bodied than expected.

6 pack of cans from Greg & Jane’s Beer, Epping, NH for a price of $11.80. Color shows a clear golden with average carbonation bubbles. Aroma is large amount of pale grain, their house yeast, and mild floral hops.
Taste is no surprise and reflects the aroma. House yeast, pale grain backbone and a floral hop, followed by light pine bitterness. Moderate bitterness with some cracker malt. Well made with no flaws expect for a light alcohol note. Pretty good but not top tier in the "IPL" style.

Can from a Lazy dog. Pours a crystal clear deep golden color with a rocky white head that persists. Resinous citrus lemony nose with a delicate bready maltiness on the nose. The flavor is more resin and pine than citrus, sweet bready malt with a hint of spice underneath with a lingering hop bite in the finish. I wouldn’t want to have to categorize it, but is a pretty tasty beer.
