Inspired by a Hendricks gin basil cooler, Coolcumber is made with cucumber, basil and juniper berries. Just like making a great cocktail this beer is dosed carefully with its ingredients to create a one of a kind flavor experience. Golden in color and wonderfully drinkable.

Smells of a citrusy hops. Medium body, tastes like IPA with a resin hops bitterness. Maybe they gave me an IPA by mistake.

Can: Quite strong aroma of basil and thyme. Hazy golden, medium head. Basil, light malt. Light body, soft carbonation. I love basil in beer, better in saisons, but this is tasty.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a clear golden straw color with a nice finger of pillowy foam that builds then dissipates. Very basil-forward nose with some floral juniper, spruce and herbal aromas. Medicinal taste on the palate, with more strong herbal character. The juniper really comes out on the palate, with a long, lingering basil flavor on the palate. Very overpowering and a bit too intense, all the flavors are there, but it seems a little "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" kind of approach to me. --- Beer merged from original tick of Coolcumber on 30 May 2018 at 19:11 - Score: 6. Original review text: Strong basil forward nose with light juniper and spruce notes. Medicinal and herbal palate with lingering basil and juniper. A bit much tbh.

Bottle from Bruisin' Ales. Pours gold with a slight, transient white head. Aroma of cucumber and maybe even more juniper. Love juniper. Med body or so. Flavor is juniper, cucumber and, yes, basil. It's not super strongly flavored, but strong enough to do the ingredients justice. Pretty dry, not very bitter, but it's juniper!

Tap @ Copper Penny, Wilmington. Golden with a small head. The cucumber is light but effective giving the saison a good floral-like twist.

9 day old bottle > weizenbock. ABV is 5.5%. A: Clear bubbly appearance with a short fast-falling bubbly head. S: Malty smell with botanical notes. Basil is subtle. Juniper more pronounced. No cucumber to speak of. T: Much like the smell with an almost smoky malt flavor. Cucumber slightly more noticeable than in the nose. Basil seems lost in the juniper at the end. No discernible hop notes. Actually pretty good tasting. M: Low carbonation, medium body and wet finish. O: A pleasant surprise, better than I expected. Additives are not overdone and it actually tastes like beer.
