Bottle. A- Tootsie roll, chocolate, cake, mild spice. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Char, chocolate. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- A bit more traditional feeling without a ton of frills. Almost felt more like a stout to me. The rye was there but only subtle. Lots of variations on chocolate flavor.

A deep dark porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, nice chocolate malt with light grassy hops, light treacle, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with light resinous floral hops, light licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice. Bottle at L'autre oeil.

Duo Nogne O/ Terapin gagnant.

bottle at beerlovers bar. Pours dark, 99 % black, small grey head. Smell is very full, coffee / roasty, very mild red fruits. creamy, rye, even though i’m not convinced i’d be able to name that blindly. Taste is very full, intense body. The rye shines trough nicely. This grainbeer is in perfect balance ! Still get some very distant red fruits. Chewy ending, thick body, very nice carbo. A very surprisingly good beer !

Super good Imperial Porter. Aroma is complex yet clean and enjoyable with tobacco a hint of anise some roast coffee and and a bit of leather. Flavor’s much like nose, slight sweetness dominates but there is some Carbonic Tang end bitterness to balance making it a very drinkable beer and super smooth period body is very good and finish is perfect.

Bottle from the LCBO. Opaque mahogany under a tiny tan head that fades quickly to a sheet.Nose is cocoa, dark fruit, coffee, notes of wood and vanilla. Flavour is light sweet molasses with a medium- coffee and dark chocolate bitterness. There is also a light cherry tartness and a touch of spice from the rye. Mouth is medium and silky with soft carbonation. Alcohol is warming but well integrated. 8/4/8/4/16+

Pours a dark brown colour with ruby highlight. The head is creamy as the lacing, mocha colour, decent lasting. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts with hints of licorice, pepper and bread. Flavours of licorice, caramel, roasted malts and herbal notes. Very smooth mouthfeel, on the oily side. Wow, this brew is quite something.

Bottle split at Bespin, thanks to Danny Boyo, 08/12/16. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is earthy, molasses, herbal notes, dark chocolate dusting, chocolate biscuit. Taste comprises chocolate chop cookies, toffee, earthy, shades of fruit loaf, black peppery spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough porter ... ABV kept in check, drinks fairly easy if perhaps lacking a little depth ABV considered.
