The dark member of the Švyturys traditional collection which has been brewed since 1965. Awarded multiple times worldwide, the dark red Švyturio Baltijos beer stands outs for its flavour of roasted malt, caramel and brown bread. It has a profound sweetness of malt with a light aftertaste of dried plums and chocolate.

50cl bottle from Tosano. Clear dark amber to red color, thick creamy white head, reducing but lots of lacing. Lagery smell, a bit punchy. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts, vaguely nutty with an hint of vanilla, some biscuit, light bready, sugar. Taste sweetish, mild metallic, some unpleasing bitterness. Average carbonation, medium body, oily texture, clean finish light sharp with fuel notes.

"The colour of the beer is dark amber with a large amout of foam. It tastes a little sweet of caramel and roasted malt, but with a crisp finish. All together alot better than what I was expecting for some reason." - beersoftheworldproect.wordpress.com

Can from the Polish Delicatessen opposite The Barum Top Inn, Halifax. Dark clear copper with next to no head. Malty, sweet, fairly rich in this respect with its strength evident.

F: thin, off-white. C: dark brown-red, clear. A: caramel, malt, fruity, cherries. T: caramel, malty, fruity, medium full body, lower carbonation, may be too boring but for me enjoyed, 0,5l bottle in shopping centre Serfontana in Morbio Inferiore in Switzerland.

Bottle from random Eastern European shop in Bedford. Clear ruddy Amber, lots of carbonation. Light smell of caramel malt extract. Tastes sweet with a hint of smoke and stone fruit. Earthy finish. Not a lot to this one really - what you see is what you get - but it is an easy-drinking beer.

Bottle from Prince International Supermarket, Ashford. clear dark brown beer lasting beige head. Some sweetness on aroma. Some sweet strawberry on the flavour, bit of jam, rest is fine. I found it to be a tasty beer, no doubt. I liked the malt fruit and the rest fitted round this central fact well. Some dryness on the finish..

Clear dark amber colour, large frothy beige head, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Sweet malty nose, caramel, brown sugar, bit roasty. Flavour light heavy sweet, slightly bitter, malty, bit sugary. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, lingering sweetness and roasted malts plus a bit more bitter in the aftertaste finish; decent Vienna.

Clear dark amber, thick offwhite froth. Sweet malt aroma. Caramel and syrup flavour with negligible bitterness. Too much bland caramel, nothing to balance. Blah...
