Finally, a holiday beer brewed without candy canes, cinnamon or a single gingerbread house! Notes of cotton candy and green grape skin come from where they should — hops, barley, yeast, and water — NOT naughty spices. This beer is in honor of all those who know you don’t need over-marketed “flavors of Christmas” to enjoy a beer with the holidays.

Very hazy, super cloudy and incredibly pale golden and straw coloured body with a very thick, four to five centimetre tall soapy tan head. Aroma of light citrus fruit, resin, flowers, grass, hay a bit of sour candy and some pale, very easy-on-the-nose malts/wheat. Medium-bodied; Very crisp dry flavours at first that show a nice herbal and very perfumey hop characteristic that DOES have some alpha acid bitterness with a touch of lemons and chamomile tea towards the end and a soft, but surprisingly supportive malt profile. Aftertaste shows the nice dryness throughout, with some herbal and grassiness here, but the citrus fruit and soft resinous notes show more. Overall, a nice crisp, very easy-drinking, almost NE IPA that's definitely unfiltered, but a bit light on any 'juicy' notes, although the citrus does show here, but really only in terms of bitterness. Great to sample, just after one day following Santa's arrival at our house to bring presents to three joyous kids. Great to have this one, this time of the year, even though the beer had nothing to do with Santa/Christmas, but at least the label was nice and festive. I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from Wegman's [grocery] in Sterling, Virginia on 09-December-2021 for US$1,99 (as part of a mixed six pack), sampled at my house here in Washington just a day after Christmas 2021 on 26-December-2021.

A hazed blonde ipa with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits, very nice. In mouth, sweet fruity malt with light tropical fruits, light resinous notes, pleasant. On tap at Whole Foods Philadelphia Center.

Canned 11/2/21, drunk 11/25/21. Heavily, bordering soupy-hazy, bronze-brass. Small, somewhat dense, white head atop shows moderate retention. Tons of fruity and bubble gum-like notes with hints of what I at first thought were lactose, but I'm hoping not. Maybe just the interaction of yeast and a very healthy malt. Hops aren't explosive, but do offer tangerine, light pine and softer melon. No twang or booze. Phew, no lactose, and it's much, much less yeast-driven in the flavor than the nose would suggest. Lighter in body, with cracker and just specks of honey-like malt sweetness. Pine, tangerine, herbs and lemon on the finish. Soft and malty with high attenuation. No booziness, big acidity or hop twang. Lovely.

Can (10/23/20) pour. Appearance is opaque dark yellow with light sparkle at the edges of the glass, finger-width foamy white head with good retention and fair lacing. Aroma is strong lemon and orange citrus, mild pineapple. Taste is strong citrus, mix of sweet candied fruit and lightly tart fruit (grapefruit), cracker malts and late yeast. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, average-to-lively carbonation and dry finish as taste with light lingering bitterness. Overall, pretty decent strength of flavor and aroma, especially since it's right at the end of its freshness window, and some complexity.

5 oz. taster. Hazy appearance. Flavor of grapefruit, mild scallions, soft grassy bitterness. Good balance. A decent showing of grassy and citrus hops. A touch above the norm.

Can, from Malt & Mold. Pours cloudy pale yellow with foamy off-white head, faint citrus aroma, adequate carbonation, mildly bitter citrusy taste, flat mouthfeel, longish finish. Though it was canned only a month ago, precipitates were floating. Decent brew though.
