This brown ale has a marked ruby brown colour with a gen-erous and lasting head. It has a distinctive aroma reflecting the wide range of ingredients used in its production. The fruitiness resulting from its fermentation blends harmoni-ously with a dominant liquorice and caramel flavour. The body is decidedly malty. The bitterness is the result of a complex alchemy between the fine hops and special malts used. These give St-Feuillien Brune a typical dark chocolate appearance. This beer creates an endless variety of sensations with a lingering taste and powerful aroma.

330ml bottle from M&S. Cloudy toffee colour with a very lively off white head. Aroma is caramel, stone fruit, spice. Flavour is more of the same with some candy sugar and yeast thrown in for good measure. Tasty

Clear red beer, off white head. Spiced,. fruity aroma. Flavour is fruity, with a little sugar and spice, some banana at the back end, lots of malt and with a warm boozy finish. Nothing remarkable in terms of the flavours but it's a really nice dubbel.

Verhältnismäßig perlig für ein so schweres Bier, dennoch recht intensiv, sehr malzig, hallt auch lange nach. Rosinen, Feigen, Malzbonbon, Lakritz.

Bottle on 27th October 2020. Pours reddish brown with yellow foam soon disappearing without lacing. Caramel aroma. Toffee maltiness in-mouth with hints of cherries and mid spices. A spicy, malty finish. Full bodied with a smooth yet engaging mouthfeel.

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a murky deep mahogany colour with a large thick creamy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, brown bread and spice. Taste is more dark fruits, caramel, bread, some chocolate, spice and brown sugar. Full body, average carbonation and very slightly oily mouthfeel. Fruity with a touch of molasses on a sweetish finish. Very good Brune up there with the best.
