Dit geelgoud gerstebier met een kleine hoeveelheid tarwe heeft een heerlijke citrustoets. Door het gebruik van fijne hoppen is dit bier mooi in balans. Hergisting op fles. Bier gebrouwen sinds: 2001

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. Label looks like a kid’s drawing. Text on the back on the bottle seems to state that this is actually a witbeer. BBF 20/01/2014. Pours orange with a creamy white head. Nose is full citrus, touch dishwashing liquid like but not heavily, hoppy, some wheat, smells not badly, expected something terrible given the score on here. Taste is bitter floral, citrus, bitter hops, EU ones but agreeable, light medicinal / EU hops taste, bitter citrus peel, heavy esters, grass, quite bitter, herbal, touch booze. Something synthetic about it but not too heavy / quite weird but definitely not as bad as the score suggests here. Increases greatly once warmed up and you get quite used to it. It is quite nice actually. Maybe the recipe for this was recently improved or some issues fixed or something. Lots of carb, almost sparkling.

Slightly hazy bronze coloured body with a bit of a copper glow and a fast-dying just off-white head. As soon as bottle was cracked, tons of carbonation came spilling out for 30 seconds. Aroma of funky malt, tons of yeast, bread, alcohol, metal and some light fruits. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence; Pungent malt and alcohol flavours with a very strong bite at the end and some light yeast coming through. Aftertaste shows even more alcohol warmth, some light spice notes and the smallest amount of sweetness. Overall, a rather strong and pungent beer with the malt, alcohol and metal coming through way too much and not enough focus or complexity. Decent to try, but wish I would have packed a different beer. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Bier Tempel in Bruxelles, Belgium on 02-January-2011 for €1,75 sampled at home in Washington on the other side of the pond on 27-June-2013.

33cl from Dranken Geers. BB 01/2014.

10/IV/2012 - 33cl bottle from Geers (Oostakker) @ home - BB: I/14 (2012-341)

Little cloudy dark blond beer, big creamy off-white head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very fruity, sweet peaches, some citrus fruits, touch of exotic fruits (it's no USA hops, but the yeast, similar as in the Heerenbeer I had at De Heeren recently). MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: some citrus fruits, bit of sweet malts, fruity, little sugary sweetness, grassy bitter hops. Aftertaste: bit sweet, bitter hops, citrus fruits, some alcohol noticeable. WTF is with the low ratings? Guess my bottle is from a newer batch, and it's pretty decent now. No defects or weird smells.

33cl bottle @ home. Hazy muddy yellow color with yeast residu floating in it. Big fully lasting, vast foamy white head. Smell lightly malts, some fruityness. Tastes the same. Odd, expected something totally different. Low carbo, low to medium body.

A truly remarkable beer [gusher] thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a hazy gold body and a large white head. Aroma is herbal, chicken stock and vegetable soup. Taste is old, lemon, chicken noodle, mushroom. Fizzy, salty finish. Odd, doesn’t even begin to describe.
