Bottle at Bottle Shop Canterbury. Hazy reddish amber thin near white head. Strong bretty aroma. Hoppy yes but the brett dominates. Fullish in mouth not overly boozy. An interesting double ipa certainly. Its quite bretty then some belgian tripel over the top and then some hops. Ok combo. Characterful. Brett is a bit over dominant

Draft at Beer temple. Pours cloudy orange with an off white head. Aroma of caramel, horse blanket, some gravy, grassy hops, grapefruit, very weird- a lot going on that normally wouldn’t be. Flavour is heavy sweet and bitter lasting long into the finish, maybe a touch of umami. Full bodied with soft carbonation. A strange beer!

On tap at Beer Temple. Hazy orange colour, off-white head. Aroma of light Brett funk, grass and light pine, light caramel, floral malts, oranges. Flavour is light sweet, oranges, zest, grass, pine, light funk, hint of tartness, nice dry bitter finish with some alcohol. Medium-bodied. Expected more of this, nevertheless a nice beer.

Hazy bronze coloured body with a bit of an orange glow and a thin, one centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of tons of piney hops, bunches of belgian yeast, alcohol, nice sweet sugars and even a hint of fresh fruit. Full-bodied; Strong pungent medicinal and resinous flavour from malt and hops, but the yeast soon comes and is a bit too strong - like a loaf of bread in this one, with the candy sugars right behind that along with a deep hop finish. Aftertaste is mainly the yeastiness, some light malt, a tiny hop bitterness, and more yeast than a packet of Fleishmann’s - strong. Overall, not such a great Imperial IPA, especially for the price. Definitely not worth trying, you’d be much better off to get an American made Imperial IPA for half the price. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 30-December-2012 for US$6.79 sampled at home in Washington on 31-January-2013.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours clear orange amber with a transient beige head. Hoppy aroma. Also earthy. Heat seems quite noticeable. Flavor is hoppy to the point the malt is barely noticeable. Heat increases. This is a beer with a strong impact. Nice.

Spuyten Duyvil, Brooklyn 11.2oz ($12): Pours an amber color with a white head. Aroma is ridiculous amounts of resin, with almost no sugar, but plenty of earth and a bit of weirdness. Taste comes close to the excellent aroma, but doesn’t quite get up to the same level. Plenty of earth, nice amount of hop bitterness, alcohol is well-covered. Body is pretty nice as well. Excellent beer all around.
