Historically brewed with hemp seeds, Chronic Ale has been a staple at Pizza Port for over a decade! This mellow amber ale is the most popular beer in all of our pub locations as it agrees with everyone’s palate and goes great with pizza. It was a dream come true to finally put it in a can and give people the chance to carry it with them wherever they go!

Amber color, small off-white head. Cardboard and caramel in the nose. Light-bodied. Caramel, even a bit honeyish, malts, very light hops in the finish. Needs to be rerated from the fresh sample.

16 oz can purchased at the Pizza Port in San Clemente, California. 11 28 16 printed on the bottom of the can. The pour is a clear copper golden with a small off white head. The aroma is caramel malt, fresh grass and floral honey. The taste is clean caramel sweet, fresh malt and finishes dry with the grass. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and a mineral floral slight sweet caramel finish. Nice Amber.

Canned, 500 ml, courtesy of JFK10000. Shared with him and Miro. Pours clear amber, off-white head. Malty, caramel, some vague hoppy notes, bit fruity. Finishes dry and bitterish. Light to medium bodied. Bit disappointing, but probably not the freshest one.

(Draught at BrewDog Kungsholmen, Stockholm, 8 Sep 2016) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with caramel, toffee, dried fruit and apricots. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, fudge, treacle-toffee, orange peel, candy sugar and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain caramel sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite nice.

Can from AA, shared. Pours a nice looking amber with a small beige head. Malt bomb on the nose, with some faint earthy hops. Taste is malty and chewy on the palate without much hop character at all. Strange for the name...the worst pizza port I’ve had by far.

opalescent amber colour, half inch off-white head; aroma of toasted bread, floral honey, caramel, some fruitiness and very-very minimal riesling notes; taste is the same with some artificial alcoholic notes - what is quite surprising in case of a beer with 4.9% ABV...without this, it would be a great amber ale

Slightly unclear medium amber colour, small foamy off-white head, diminishing quickly, minimal lacing. Dusty malt aroma, toasted, caramel, brown bread, light citrus notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, toffee, in the middle part some light sourish red berry impressions, also metallic touch. All this leads to sweetbitter finish including a mix of nutty, dusty and earthy notes, medium body, watery to oily texture, soft carbonation. Confusing and not very satisfying amber ale.
