Keg at Andrew Ushers, Edinburgh, Saturday 19th March 2016 in the company of Dad and Barry. Slightly meaty on the nose, a touch of Oxo, not as smokey asked I was expecting in the mouth, some caramel. Yes it is ok. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Draft at In De Buurt, Zwolle. Very dark brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of light smoke, cheesy malts, caramel, overripe dark fruit and raisins. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Sampled from tap at ’Craft & Draft’. Very dark red with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan to brown head. Sweetish-malty, slightly smoky aroma of caramel, raisins and faint notes of smoke. Sweetish-malty, slightly smoky taste of caramel, raisins, chocolate and hints of smoke, followed by a short, slightly roasty-bitter, minimally smoky finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, flat. Very nice stuff, although the smoke is a bit too subtle for my taste.

Bottle shared thanks to deanso. Slight hazy dark brown with big but short lasting beige head. Sweet malts, roasted nuts, some grass and green leaves, curry, brown sugar (though not with the sweetness), soapy, chalk, dried fruit skins, raisins. Under medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with a bit slick feel.

Bottle. Cloudy brown, low off-white head. Sugary roast, light smoked wood. Light bodied, fruity sugarplum notes, burned wood and sugary aftertaste.

Bottle. Dark brown color with small grey head. Aroma is dark malts, chalky, plums. Flavour is the same, with a wine you'd say "tannins", but this doesn't work. 5-3-4-2-8 Bottle, BB 9/2016, drank 2/2018. Much less intensely sweet, more complex and quite alright now, lots of umami. 6-3-6-3-12

Sehr dunkel braune Farbe, mittelgroße beige schaumkrone. Geruch sehr hopfig dunkles malz, gering rauchig. Geschmack süß Röstmalzig, sehr hopfig bitter, gering rauchig.
