50 cl. bottle poured in to a snifter. Dark brown colour with a small, creamy tan head. Roasted aroma with coffee, chocolate malts, some licorice and notes of mild smoke. Taste is light sweet. Full body with a good, creamy texture. Long lasting bitter and roasted finish with a good amount of chocolate. Good imperial stout without going to extremes as far as flavour or alcohol goes.

Bottle. (my Hornbeer rating 30) Black with a large, creamy tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, coffee, cream, some smoke, chocolate and wood. This was a rather soft Imperial Stout. Not bad but neither brilliant.

Big thanks to Boutip. Smells a little sweet, almost raisin-like with fig or something. There’s some yeasty musk and earthy notes, some black cola or coffee scents. Pours black but not too syrupy. A little bitter, medium to full palate that’s slick and a little oily on the tonge. Carbonation is soft. A tiny bit of sourness in the end. Bottle.

Bottle with a best before of 06-06-2017 thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours with a black hued body with a small tan head that doesn’t last long. The body stains the glass when swirled. Aromas are mildly smokey, tar, iodine, some molasses, dark roast, chocolate, a touch ashy. Flavors are of nicotine, tar, campfire, ashy, iodine. Not a fan of the highly kilned roast choice/amount in this one. Very ashy. Medium bubbles, high viscosity. Acrid.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.1%. Pitch black colour, moderate brown head. Strong smokey and roasty aroma, notes of peat and strong coffee, hints of tar, dark chocolate and liquorice. Rich and full mouthfeel. Rich flavour, sweet up front, strong roasty notes, strong and bitter coffee, moderate notes of peat smoke, dry and roasty finish, long bitter aftertaste. Pretty massive stuff.

50 cl bottle @ ISKTR. Rated on 20.03.2011
Aroma is roasted and slightly smoky with coffee and hints of licorice. Flavour has coffee, licorice and some vanilla. Quite flat and straightforward in this style, but good still.
