Aside from the light bitter hop flavors, Rothaus Hefeweizen has an additionally important flavor component that’s typical for this variety: brewer’s yeast. For this beer variety, a top-fermented yeast is used as opposed to the one that’s bottom-fermented. In contrast to our other beers, our Hefeweizen is unfiltered when bottled.

Buying it at one edeka, Endingen, august 2024. Serving me this beer two days ago, at home, so tired and happy to drink this German classic, brewed on the Bavarian way, really smooth, wheat, fruity, cloves, banana, mineral and bitter at the final, yeast.

Bottle picked up from a Getrankemarkt in Günzburg a few weeks ago. We're back home today Friday 12th September 2025 after a six hour drive from Samobor nr Zagreb. Sat drinking this in the kitchen room listening to Huw Stephens on 6Music. Pours hazy warm gold almost orange, large foamy white head . In terms of aroma, ticks ✅ all the right boxes, yeasty, wheaty, banana. The taste profile follows a similar trajectory but with a hint of clove, so , yeasty, banana, wheat. This is a solid and very nice Hefe Weiße.

Rhine river trip 2025. Very cloudy gold in color with a three-finger head. Aroma is cloves and slight banana. Taste is also cloves and no banana. That's different.
