8/VII/17 - 33cl can from a trade @ home - BB: 7/IX/17 (2017-983) Thanks to Neil and Valerie for the trade!
Clear dark brown beer, small creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of vanilla, pretty sweet impression, caramel, butter scotch, lactose. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: oh yes, that's it! Pretty sweet start, lots of burnt caramel, bit sourish, lots of vanilla. Aftertaste: sweet, burnt caramel, more vanilla, some dark chocolate, more like a flan caramel than a crème brulée, but I don't care. It's delicious!

Can from Alesbymail. Hazy dark brown with a lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, heavy burnt caramel and vanilla. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. Compared to the Southern Tire Creme Brulee I had years ago this one lacks the oily palate, I wan’t in a dessert beer and some depth as well. 280517

Cask @ Grove, Huddersfield. Almost black with a small off-white creamy head. Has a crispness and a gentle sweetness against what you might expect from an ale this colour. The crème brûlée is most evident in its nose.

330ml can. Darkest brown colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Roasty, dark malty aroma reminds of diverse Italian desserts like tiramisu and panna cotta, notes of caramel and cooked cream, toffee, some vanilla, coffee, sponge finger. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, slightly roasty, lots of caramel, hints of vanilla, toffee. Considerable, but still controlled sweetness, sadly a bit flat and monotonous.

(Cask at Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico, London, 27 Nov 2016) Dark brown colour with notes of ruby. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, sweet coffee and vanilla. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, vanilla, sweet black coffee, caramel, treacle toffee and a balanced roasty bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Sweet and candy-ish, but really tasty. Very nice.

Can at home from indepdent shop Brighton. An orgasm in a glass and does exactly what it says on the tin. Tastes of vanilla pod, burnt sugars. Was wowing throughout this and been told it’s even better on cask. (5 star) Sample on cask at Evening Star in Brighton. Current mor realistic score there. Sample on cask at Dark Star Brewery, Yard Party. First try was spectacular but after a few beers it kinda paled. Still a great beer with real creme brulee flavours. 4.4 to 4.1

Can at home, 13th January 17. Pours black, little head. aroma is burnt sugar, caramel, a little like a creme brûlée crust. Taste is cararmel, molasses, burnt sugar. It’s sweet, but not over powering, some bitterness. Good

Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm. Dark brown. Aroma of vanilla and caramel. Medium bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Mid sweet with a firm malt backbone. Caramel and vanilla are very prominent, but does not dominate completely. Chocolate and hay in a mid bitter finish. Stays drinkable and non-artificial, as opposed to other attempts further west.

Shared 330 ml can at local tasting. Nearly black colour, beige head. Surprisingly moderate but pleasant aroma, not much creme brulee though, but chocolate, roast malts and mild coffee. More vanilla in the flavour, also chocolate, but thin body compared to Southern Tier Creme Brulee.
