Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a very dark brown color with orange highlights and a large tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was dryish and roasty coffee and cocoa. The flavor was dryish roasty and toasty with notes of coffee, cream and vanilla. Medium length dry coffee finish. Moderately full bodied. Interesting.

Re-rate 7/29/13: Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Yoav. Nice and coffee-ish. 7/3/7/3/14=3.4

Can sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks zvikar. Dark brown with reddish hues. Aroma of coffee beans, a bit "green". Rather sweet flavor, a bit roasty, with a bit of caramel, coffee beans and a dry finish with some alcohol. Medium-bodied. 7/3/6/3/13=3.2

Can thanks to angrypirate06. Pours with a near black hued body with a large and fluffy off-white head. Great lace. Aromas are deep with chocolate and nutty coffee, mild esters, vanilla, an interesting grainy quality. Light anise like notes. Flavors are of coffee, mildly acidic. Oddly dry and lacking body for such a big beer. Rich and dusty cocoa. Medium bitterness. Feels a bit one dimensional. Not bad, but lacking depth and complexity. Very high carbonation, oddly light body (all things considered), immediately warming with a harsh finish.

Aroma is fairly subtle with chocolate and coffee dominating. There is also some nutty malt notes and a light fruit ester. Low roasted malt aroma present as well. No hop aroma. Pours a dark brown with lighter brown highlights on the edges. Good thick tan head that shows nice retention. Flavor is good, but surprisingly boring. Light coffee and chocolate notes with coffee becoming more apparent late in the palate. As it warms the coffee gets more noticeable as does some alcohol spice. No hop flavor and low bitterness. Not a whole lot of roast malt flavor. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Medium low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall an alright beer but the alcohol as it warms isn't great. Also the malt character isn't as bright as I would hope or expect. I don't get much chocolate either. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can. Deep garnet-brown body, thin tan head. Bitter, ashy, roasted coffee bean nose; otherwise dry. Coffee bean dominates the thin, relatively simplistic body. Bitter. OK.

Can. Clear dark brown (almost black) liquid with small to medium light tan head. Aroma of coffee, bitter chocolate, biscuit, light ash, light booze and some fruity yeast esters. Taste is light sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of coffee, bitter chocolate and light booze. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice, bit boozy though.

12 oz can from TheEpeeist. Nose is coffee, roast, and a little chocolate. Clear brown with a medium beige head. Flavor is lightly peppery and sweet, a hint of bitterness, and lots of roasty coffee.

12oz can pours a hazy, deep brown with some creamy, off white head. Nose of malt, toast, vanilla beans, cola, a little dust. Flavor is very sweet, loads of caramel, cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, malt, cola, chestnut honey. Finishes a little dusty. I think this needs to be ultra-fresh to be any good.

Can thanks to Dean! Pours a clear deep amber brown with a grayish brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a combination of sweet chocolate and coffee with a bit of dark grains and roasted malts. Flavor starts with roasted malts and coffee with a bit of sweet chocolate coming out in the finish.
