650 ml bottle Pours a clear mahogany with moderate head. Aromas of dark sweet fruit, toffee, and sweet malts. Flavors are same with a big dose of bitter dry fruity hops. Good but still over rated. This rating replaces previous tap rating. Bottle is much better...

Sample at Daily Growler Powell. Pours a copper-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Sticky strings of lace. Aroma of piney hops, fruit and caramel malt. Full-bodied with flavors of resiny hops, earthy malt, ripe fruit, brown sugar and caramel. The finish is hoppy up front with a chewy caramel malt aftertaste. Good beer overall.

0.65l bottle from 2d2dspuma. This is a deep red near cola brown looking one with a small beige fading head. On the nose this one has lots of sweet vanillaish wood, thick sticky caramel, lots of beefy smoky nuances - nor overpowering though just really nice. Lots and lots of flavor and it has this extremely smooth velvety feeling in the mouth. It's not hard to identify the heating alcohol in this, but it's never disturbing. Really okay and almost barreled. Subtle smoky tones from the start to the finish. Nutty snickers caramel, sweet vanilla and it's just one of those that's absolutely loaded with flavors and impressions. Highly enjoyable. 12.08.2014

22 oz. bottle aged two years. Deep amber color with still a nice level of carbonation. Aroma still shows a good hop presence, floral and fruit. Malt is here for sure as well, caramel and thick toffee.
The flavor still displays the hop presence as well, the signature Stone pine hop shows in the finish of the beer with the toffee, caramel and hints of dough. The ABV has mellowed out a bit and shows just a slight warming after the sip. With the age, the flavor has the malt taking over with the hops now complimenting the beer with a nice balance. Nice drink.

14th March 2014, large bottle at a barbeque in Newport Beach, bought and took the bottle myself and didn’t share it! Aggressive little bugger isn’t it. Hops full on in the mouth, yet it has a sweeter maltier nose: bitter in flavour with a definite Barley wine undertone. A fine beer in all aspects.
