Moorig, malziger Geschmack. Unausgewogen, sperrig und alles andere als ein Genuss. Ist wirklich nicht besonders. Positiv ist nur, dass die Verbreitung auf Franken beschränkt ist und das Zeug es nicht zu mir nach Niederbayern geschafft hat. Das helle Weizen ist einen ganzen Zacken besser (was allerdings keine Kunst ist). Nachtrag: Offenbar fanden das Bier andere auch nicht so toll. Im Herbst 2018 ging die traditionsreiche Brauerei Pleite und wurde geschlossen. Die Markenrechte übernahm Kulmbacher, die auch die Produktion übernehmen werden. Auch wenn ich selbst absolut kein Fan von Kitzmann war, kann ich sehr gut nachvollziehen wie enttäuscht und geschockt man in Erlangen ist. Ein Stück lokaler Identität und Tradition geht verloren...

Bottle shared at the brewery during the Bamberg Jolly of January 2014. Pours cloudy golden-brown with a creamy, off-white head. Quite tasty, with good toasted wheat character, moderate caramelised sugars, bruised banana. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Rich wheat toast on the finish, more ripe banana, yeast, phenols. Very nice.

On at Kitzmann Erlangen. Cloudy dark brown. too sweet too brown sugar too clean sweet not much esters biscuit. virtually no banana. lacks character

Schöne braun-trübe Farbe mit cremig-beigem Schaum. Süßlich-malziger Geruch. Der Antrunk ist vollmundig-rund, schön cremig und leicht malzig . Zum Hauptteil verstärkt sich diese hefig-malzige Note, eine ganz leichte Herbe tritt zu Tage, ein paar Schokoladenaromen kommen zum Nachgeschmack hinzu. Auf der Zunge bleibt eine malzig-hefige und sehr weiche Note zusammen mit einer ganz leicht störenden, aber doch auch angenehmen Herbe.

Day 2 of the Bamberg Jolly 25/01/2014. Bottle at the brewery. Murky brown coloured pour with a thin greyish cream head. Aroma is toffee, banana loaf, gooey caramel banana. Flavour is nutty, caramel, banana bread. Palate is sticky malt, semi-sweet. Middle of the road dunkle.

Day 2 of the post Xmas Bamberg Jolly, bottle at the brewery tap - Erlangen, 25/01/14. Dark mahogony brown with a good sized light beige head. Nose is brown bread, toffee, clove, spices, yeast esters, faint nana. Taste comprises banana skins, yeast, toffee, brown bread notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. Ok DW.

Bottle. Light spicy minerally dusty aroma, before the fruits kick in.. Dark cloudy brown with a chestnut shie, rocky cappucino head. Nice allspice, clove and preserved fruit notes, caramel glazed bananas, raisins, marzipan. Fullflavored like a wheat bock. Chewy and fulbodied as well. Finishes on a fresh citric note, quite moreish.
