Bottle from Kent BF 2015. Thanks be to Menno. Smoke aroma jumps out at you. Yes reminds me of a German smoked doppelbock. Wow that’s lovely exactly what I wanted on a cold July windy day. Lots of travelling today so good to just kick back on a train with this and enjoy. Some hop kick on the finish. Just the right level of smoke. Some malt sweetness. Some malt fruit. Good smoke.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - bottled on 26-02-2015 - BB 26-02-2017, at Stadin Panimibaari, 20150724) The beer poured dark brown and rather clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had smoke, grilled sausage and molasses. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were smoke, smoked ham, grilled sausage, molasses, sweetness and biterness. Aftertaste was smoky, sweet and bitter. A very good smoky brew.

Shared small bottle (with a mate called Colin) on 24th June 2015 at Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury before the ’Bottle Exchange Group’ meeting: one of two pre-exchange beers. Yip, it’s smoked, reminded me of Bamberg. Very dark, a hazy deep brown with a tanned topping. Aroma dominated by the smoky maltiness, as was the taste: smoking Peat Bog style with a caramel layer for some sweetness. Not a smoked beer fan really, but this was fine for a change of tack and set me up nicely for what was to follow at the tasting evening.

Bottle, 0.33l, shared with Hoppiness crew. Hazy dark brown color with thin creamy tan-like head and soft visible carbonation. Aroma of smoked sausage, dried fruits, chocolate and grassy hops. Taste starts with moderate sweet roasted malt and chocolate, follows by smoked sausage and leather with warming mouthfeel and mild bitter finish. Full body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. 3 in 1; with this fabulous beer you get liquid sausage, smoke and beer, of course...

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Aroma of malt, smoked malt grains,toast, caramel. Sweetish flavor with malt, grains, smokiness, caramel. Medium-bodied.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours a deep, hazy brown with decent tan head. Smooth smoked flavours, balanced well against deep malts and caramel notes. Another good one from De Molen.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy brown body with a medium beige head. Nice lacing. Massive aroma of smoked cheese, whisky and honey roast ham. Flavour of peat, earthy hops and stewed tea. Surprisingly tangy and hoppy on the finish. Medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Very unusual and lots of smoke character.

33cl bottle from ABCBeers. Decent creamy off white head. Clear deep amber pour. Smokey aroma. Light smokey taste and a little sweetness. Quite decent.
