A full flavoured, amber coloured English ale. Rich toffee and raisin sweetness from the malt, balanced with a firm bitterness and a fresh, herbal hop aroma.

On tap at the brewery. Pours brown. Spice, lots of dried fruit, cinnamon, blackberry, biscuit finish. Too carbonated. Nice enough.

On tap at 4 Pines Brewpub, Manly. Pours clear amber with an off white head. Aroma: toffee & caramel malt, toast, nuts, dried fruits. Taste: moderate malty, light to moderate sweet, caramel, toffee, nuts, raisins, herbal hops. Light to medium body, moderate carb, dryish lingering bitter finish. Overall possibly a little too sweet for the style but it was very drinkable all the same

(Bottle) Clear ruddy amber with thin off-white head. Nice aroma - toffee, nuts, toast, herbal hop notes. Medium body with good carbonation. Good rich taste that evolves through the palate. There’s some robust dark toffee sweetness throughout. There’s nutty and biscuity notes especially at the start. Hops are present throughout, evolving from a pleasant herbal note at the start to some nice bitterness in the finish that balances the sweetness. There’s some quite rich notes - raisins, cough syrup, port. Very nice beer.

On tap at 4 Pines, pours a hazy amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malt and a little English hops. Flavour brings out caramel malts and English hops in good balance. Sweet and not really like an ESB. It's okay.

I love the finish on this one, nice lingering, sticky bitterness. Medium weight and slick, malt, honey in the aroma, taste brings the hops in. Well rounded

Reddish-amber. Aroma is earthy, sweet caramel, light bitterness. Not hugely impressive...maybe disappointing.

Bottle, 12C. Clear bronze with beige head that laces well. Aroma of toffee, bread, spices, dried fruit. Full bodied, rich. Not all that sweet given how rich it seems. Toffee, bread, dried fruit, dries out a bit towards the spicy and quite bitter end. A bit rustic. Good stuff.

Pours dark amber/copper with a small head.Nose shows nutty sweet malt, bready notes, caramel. Quite nice!Flavours include some of the sweet malt, but there’s also a grainy note. Finishes a bit plain.Carbonation could be just a little higher.
