Clear amber body with a large creamy off-white heaed that persists. Sweet earthy and floral hops aroma on a caramel background. Slightly resiny hops. Light grainy malt hints. Sweet caramel flavor with a dry finish. Bitterness in the finish. Very smooth body with low carbonation.

Can: Poured a clear medium brown color ale with a small bubbly head with limited retention. Aroma of malt is slightly sweet with little hops distinguishable. Taste was also dominated by some discreet sweet malt with a dry ending. Body was about average with some average carbonation. A bit boring overall and would have profited from having more English hops to provide some floral notes.

Canette 500ml.

Pours deep brown into an English pint. Conglomerate off-white head recedes at a medium pace to spot the surface. Date and malt aromas. Upfront smoked caramel with a lasting bitter fig finish.

Bottle from Sainsbury I think. Copper in colour, caramel and malty nose. This has always been one of the better of the regularly available Green King beers on cask but in bottle it’s not quite as good. Caramel and toffee flavours but with a wishy washy body considering the reasonable abv lacking a bit in bitterness a bit as well.

Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel color with a large yellow-tan head. The aroma was sweet and malty though somewhat faint. The mouthfeel was fairly smooth. The flavor was light sweet and nutty malts with a vague hint of fruity hops and a lightly bitter finish.

Bottle: copper colour with a rapidly fading white head; aroma is predominantly malt with a nutty touch; a tangy malt taste with a good balance of bitterness as an afternote. A classic English ale.
