Bottle Dark amber, champagne bubbes, low foamy lacing amber head. Fresh English hops and biquit malt. Light bisquit malt body with a nice whiff of hops (citrus, pine, dust). One of the better bottled ales.

Bottled. Copper coloured, big white foamy head. Fruity bitter aroma. Bitter fruity flavour with sweetish finish. Makes mouth a bit sticky. Local pub (Public Corner) seems to enjoy taking in British bitters...

Paid $1.90 for a pint can single. Light amber with a big, frothy white head. Smells a lot like cheap olโ€™ beer. Average malty flavor... kinda weak.

If any beer smells like iced tea itโ€™s this one- Abbot Ale pours (from a one-pint can) with a pungent leafy aroma suggestive of tea leaves and tobacco, with a brown sugar and caramel malt backdrop. The body is clear copper with an initially unwieldy light tan nitrogen head that diminishes to the perfect size. The flavor is light and the body is very thin, but leafy hops and caramel/brown sugar malts are apparent along with a metallic aftertaste. Subtle.

Man if this is this good in the bottle overseas, I cant even imagine it on cask. Faint aroma of hops, and some malt, small white frothy head, orange and brown intermingled with some red streaks. Opens up full and malty, with some fruit tones making their way in quickly. . cherry, peach, maybe a tiny bit of orange. There is a brief glimpse of hops(very brief) and something more than that, a sugary yet spicy flavor that I cant name(very fleeting, maybe apple blossom?). Finishes fairly even, though there is a bit of bubbliness in the bottle, that Im sure is taken care of on cask. Beer is full bodied and not overly bitter for a biiter, though there is a some bitterness as it ends. The body is full and flavorful, but mainly tastes of caramel notes, and the complexity does not stand up to the likes of Ipswich, Fullers, or Crooked River. A very solid beer nonetheless.
