Odin's Tipple was meant to be a strong beer, but we changed our minds...its still strong but we wont follow the mega strong trend. It should be possible to make great beer without the extreme alcohol potency. Odin's Tipple is now approx 11% abv, it’s a dark almost black beer from lots and lots of chocolate malt. Its the malt that contributes the flavor...no added coffee or anything else, Its got a great body without being old engine oil and still very drinkable due to the wild yeast we use. This beer is made with a single strain of wild yeast and the recipe is dead simple.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a small dark bubbly head with almost no retention. Aroma of black chocolate and lactose notes are quite dominant with some warming alcohol that can also be easily detected. Taste is also dominated by huge black chocolates notes with some sweet notes reminiscent of lactose and some fusel alcohol notes which are not the most pleasant. Body is full with engine oil texture with almost zero carbonation and a ton of alcohol was easily noticeable. Definitely sub-par with way too much alcohol noticeable and some what gross sweet notes.

Pours like oil! Aroma has a little smoke and burned malts and also some oaky red wine. Texture is sticky, sweet and oily. Flavour has a nice balance of bitter and sweet with some burnt sugars, tracle coming through. Quite a strong taste of alcohol too.

Draft @ Borefts 2012 - heard a lot of good things about this one - black with little mocha head - heavy almost vinous roast in the nose, dark sugar, coffee, touch chocolate cake - getting heavy roast, licorice, spices, tad bitter, coffee, some grounded coffee beans and darker chocolate on the sweeter side, some dark fruits, tad bitter mocha - nice carb, good body - solid but not top tier in my opinion - this is an imperial stout you could probably drink several bottles of easily
